Re: BA cancels LHR-CHS for rest of 2020

BA won't cut 12,000 staff. This is a "don't let a good crisis go to waste" moment - a final opportunity to push through getting rid of Eurofleet and Worldwide cabin crew who are paid more than most of the FOs on the A320 (even some longhaul DEP FOs too!) and possibly outsource ground hand...

Re: BA could make up to 12.000 employees redundant

How do people expect them to be getting rid of their most expensive staff when layoffs start at the bottom of the seniority list? They would have to off the senior people a buyout/really good severance package for them to leave? Or are union contracts Europe very different then they are in Canada? ...

Re: Virgin Atlantic needs government support?

So with BA just announcing they will be making 12,000 people redundant, do people still think it’s a good idea to be letting VS collapse? Add the two together and that will be over 20,000 people added to the dole queue in a short time (8,500 or so plus employees plus supply chain). I have just hear...

Re: Virgin Atlantic needs government support?

It will be interesting to see how long the 80% use it or lose it slot relief is maintained. Many of the airlines, particually BA will not be able to use all of their LHR slots for some time. Will slots suddenly become available, a couple of airlines such as Rwandair have already taken the opportuni...

Re: Virgin Atlantic needs government support?

If VS weren't making money in the good times they have no chance in the months and years ahead. Why should the government step in to help them if the chance of them going bust in the longer term once the current crisis is over is extremely high and then the tax payer ends up losing millions and miss...

The EK crew rest I believe will have moved from the main deck at the rear IIRC to the under main deck floor crew rest area.

One seat is lost in the cabin for a escape hatch from the crew rest area into the cabin.
