Speculation: The southern part of Israel (Negev) is used by the IAF and is closed to civilian flights. If you check to flight paths to and from Eilat, they goes pretty much north south along the border between Jordan and Israel. Those flights do not cut across the Negev. Other way around. Egypt sel...Jump to post
I noticed that neither MS nor RJ overfly Israel on their AMM-CAI flights.........why is that? Both Egypt and Jordan recognize Israel's sovereignty.

What an odd route; and one that I never knew existed... The longest 767-300 route is currently BCN-LIM, which is 6,225 miles (the flight number is LP2431). I wouldn't worry about any weight restrictions on your flight. LATAM knows what they're doing, and with such a long and thin route like GRU-LAS...Jump to post

Are there a lot of Indians around Vancouver? They wanted a destination that could drive connections to Dehli. Bear in mind though that AC has been operating YVR-DEL for a while now (on the 789) and will convert the flight into a daily, year-round service. https://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlin...Jump to post

5X weekly right now.
Interesting that BNA will surpass MSY and have more frequency. However, MSY is operated with the 789, but not sure if 5x789 offers more capacity than 7x788.

I'm surprised that there's still no LAS-CDG service in any form, not even some type of sub-daily seasonal tourism flights. Would have thought that would have come before AMS. XL Airways France actually operated such flights from 2010 to 2014, during the summer season. 2x weekly when it started, alt...Jump to post
Fun fact: ArkeFly (now TUI fly Netherlands) flew between AMS and LAS on a twice-weekly basis in summer 2012 (they might have continued the service another season). I think one of the flights each week went through OAK and/or LAX. Of course, nothing close to the significance of thrice-weekly, year-ro...Jump to post
I noticed that flights from North America to DEL have somewhat long layover times in KEF (6 to 8 hours), arriving there around 4 to 5 am while the flight to DEL does not leave until 12 pm. (Layover time on the return trip tends to be much better, around 1.5 to 3 hours.) Would pax be okay with this?Jump to post
First world problem perhaps, but I know what you mean. I recall pax keeping the windows shut during take off! Quite irritating when you're sitting in the aisle seat and just want to glance outside. I mean, do you really want to sleep through take off, one of the most exciting parts of the flight? I ...Jump to post
Norwegian Air Shuttle has been flying from LAS to LGW, CPH, ARN, and OSL for the past couple years. Yet we are still waiting for DOH-LAS to start. The CEO gave us an update, see this article: https://thepointsguy.com/2018/03/qatar-new-qsuite-routes-vegas-plans/ We'll see how much longer it will take... I'm struggling to understand this route. Why would BA devote a 789 to a leisure destination, twice weekly from LHR, not even LGW? Is there something special about this market? Qatar Airways had announced several months back that it would begin nonstop DOH-LAS 4x weekly from 08JAN18. (It still says so on their website .) The 787-8 is the absolute perfect airplane for PHX to Europe or Asia, but there are a limited number of leisure 788 operators.
