There is no reason to let them fly so close together. They could be easily separated by altitude during flyovers, like at the last show, when fighter formations did fly higher than bombers. Saw a video clip on the Wings Over Houston airshow couple weeks back where CAF birds were performing the same...

Why everyone has a hood? Likely because it's not warm. Current temperature is 11 Celcius / 52 degree Fahrenheit. Windchills in DFW were in the 30's this morning. Yes and they're at Boeing's San Antonio TX facility undergoing conversion.
