I think I still have a ticket from Braniff III that I held onto from the 1990’s!
Jump to postThe year is 1981, and you are an airline pilot. Would you rather be hired by Pan Am to fly 727s within Europe or by Piedmont to fly 727s on some of their new expanding routes? To put another way… Would you rather fly for an international, though declining, airline on one of their less important rout...

How about an airline based in San Antonio with A380’s going nonstop to Europe and Asia?
On Aug 5th, my wife and I are flying UA from SFO to EWR. The Economy Plus seats are at $169 each. Is this a good price to lock in now or is it worth watching? Is that the price of the ticket or the price for the seat? If that's the ticket price, YES, it's a great deal! If you already have the ticke...

If I am reading correctly, there are 5 passengers, all over 2 years of age. You want to buy 4 seats for the 5. Right?
The answer is "no."
Chanukkah…. Growing up, it was the biggest, most awesome Jewish holiday in the world. Fun food, fun music, fun games, family, presents…. It was so the opposite of so many other observances. But then, at some point, I was told that in the whole scheme of things, Chanukkah is really a minor festival. ...
Jump to postThat's called a hidden destination. Illegal, but certainly not uncommon. Keep in mind that airlines might blacklist you if you do this too often. Jump to postBack in the day, avgeeks could easily recognize certain planes with just a profile or silhouette. There was no mistake about a 747, a Concorde, a Connie, a 727, etc. The DC10 and L10 were different enough. But with the 737 came the future of airplanes that (from a distance) all kinda sorta look alik...

Love this. Reminiscent of my own experience. In the mid 80’s, living in Boston, I would go to Logan once a month to go plane spotting and timetable collecting. To supplement, once a month I would go to the downtown tickets offices of many of the foreign carriers that didn’t service Boston. I remembe...

I am always grateful when an airline has a club in a non hub or non focus city. There are often other factors (competition, high end travelers or high tier FF members, former hub). But sometimes, well, it is just odd. CLubs that come to mind: Orange County has both AA and UA clubs. DFW has a UA club...

I never had any love for the 757. For me they marked the transition all the airlines seemed to make out of flying widebodies on domestic routes. It used to be a given that you would fly a DC 10, l1011, or 747 between any city on either coast. Once in a while you might have a 727 From Atlanta to the ...

It’s about being a connection center.

First thing I’d do is talk with an attorney or investment specialist. It’s amazing how many long lost cousins will suddenly appear.
