Number 5! Good composition with fantastic light - I love it when light fills the engines like that...

Props to your HTML skills as well! Being on a slow 56k modem here at home, I appreciate the thumbnails.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

RE: Didital Long Time Exposure Issue

Peter, would it be possible for you to post the EXIF information from this shot for us? That might help us figure out what wasn't right.

Right away, it looks like REALLY bad weather conditions, but still...I would hope that a D1X could handle these types of shots!

RE: How Is The Speed Effect Created?

This is really a difficult thing to do without an IS lens. But, that doesn't mean it won't work without one. The key thing to remember is to follow the aircraft WITH YOUR ENTIRE BODY (not just your arms) as it moves past. A monopod would probably help too. I've blown alot of shots doing this, and ha...

I agree with Peter...nice shot! Very nicely lit and composed. BUT... It is (like Peter said) over-sharpened. While I was waiting for the image to download (I'm on a slow 56k connection here at home), I had time to closely look at each part as it appeared. I noticed that every edge of your image is j...

RE: Why To Be Careful Spotting; I Learned The Hard Way

Hey Chris...I was actually at ORD taking pics yesterday with no problems. I was sitting in the parking lot of the USG building at the intersection of Lawrence and Mannheim. A GREAT spot (for approaches), and there were several other people there too. I was there for a couple hours in the morning, an...

I was out at ORD for a few hours this morning driving around the perimiter and checking things out (I've never done any outdoor photography here). I did find a couple good spots AWAY from the airport (on the approach line) that I could easily grab the small stuff at full frame (737's, F-100's, etc) ...

I've been wondering the same thing. Anyone?? In light of recent events, I'm not sure if this spot will remain open. It is, afterall, private property. Has anyone driven by it in the last few days? I'm not currently in southern California (and won't be for another few weeks) - otherwise, I'd go and check it out for myself. Thanks for any inform...

What a wierd (and very sad) day...funny how things can change in the blink of an eye. I honestly think that photography is going to be a lot more difficult from this point forward. In terminal photography is going to be hit the hardest, as I'm pretty sure that it'll be "ticketed passengers from this...

I agree with Dean 110%. If you have a shot that is truly unique and special - and somebody is going to make money off it, then hell yea, charge 'em accordingly. But people, you HAVE to be realisitc. Best Airport For Ground Movement Photography?

I was recently at the NW Cargo lot at LAX taking pictures, and I just kept thinking how PERFECT of a spot it was in the late afternoon for getting arrivals on Runways 25 left and right. The only downside was it was hard to get nice shots of planes lining up for departure – there are some landi...

Nice setup. However, Brownphoto nailed it right on the head: don't worry about your equipment, just get out there and shoot. I was wondering the same thing...could it be because of the TWA slots (possibly) opening up soon?

Still, it wouldn't make sense for SNA to grant TWA's slots to someone else before the AA/TW merger is even approved.
