RE: Los Angeles Selling ONT To Ontario

LAWA is a disaster at every airport it operates at except LAX..........they also took over KPOC a thriving airport years ago, with flight school activity everywhere and it was the 8th busiest field in California. L...

RE: DL1889 BOS-SLC 8/7 Diverts To DEN-Hail Damage

No excuse for this incident.........you can get hit by hail up to 20 miles from a T-storm but meterology should have been on this and routed around it, or the crew should have seen it and deviated. From the damage I would say a level 5 storm, easily able to pick the wings off anybody dumb enough to ...

RE: Whoops-- Kid Cranks Up Chopper At Airshow

FADEC jet starts are automatic............batteries on and hit start...........watch it happen on the screen............usually the batt switches are overhead and I doubt the kid would or could be fooling around up there, so the teen helping makes sense........in any case there are some red faced EM...

RE: AA Engineer Killed At DFW

38 years in airline ops and this is the first incident I'm aware of like this........incredibly rare, and I'm still at a loss for how this happened. I've ran the cockpit on 100's of tows up to jetways and never even remotely had this happen.......just wait for the jetway to contact the side of the b...

RE: Southern California Logistics Airport

I've flown a GA in there many times and its a huge spread out operation. The tower can't even see you on some parts of the 3 mile runway. I don't see a tour bus operation working well at all. They have a busy paint/ mothball operation up there and all I se...

When your head is bouncing off the ceiling, charts are flying everywhere, and you can't tune the radios you know its time to calmly report severe turbulence.............

RE: Dreamlifter Lands At Wrong Airport

A response to this quote.........."We can always count on the smug, non-pilot comments on A-net from the peanut gallery. I'm saddened someone who claims to be retired from airline operations would react with such venomous glee." 38 years in airline ops and a licensed pilot here since 1995. No venomo...

RE: Dreamlifter Lands At Wrong Airport

There are six airports within a 20 mile radius of the intended airport, all with similiar runway alignment. Still this crew was negligent all the way, and it took them five minutes to figure out where they were on the ground. Clearly out of the loop, and the ATC guys weren't a big help, probably bec...

RE: Dreamlifter Lands At Wrong Airport

600,000 lbs is light for a 747........6,100 ft will be enough if they don't scrape up any obstructions on the field. I used to sit along the runway at Memphis and watch the 747-200 leave for <acronym title="Minneapolis / St. Paul - International / Wold-Chamberlain Field (MSP / KMSP), USA - Minnesota...

RE: Jennifer Aniston Wants New Personal Private Runway

Obviously some internet troll got that story in the mix, and some gullible type bought it. 3 acres won't cut it. You have to be an excellent pilot and hit the numbers spot on every time to get a small bizjet into 3,200ft. It is done, few pilots can do it. Last I heard Brangelina was running around i...
