I wonder what the US-Asia mix will look like. And will MSP get any of the new widebodies?
I’m curious how the aircraft rotation will look like if they get MSP-PVG.
This might provide some information on the launch of 797 and delays
Great trip report! Thanks for posting. It makes me want to return to Argentina to visit that area of the country!Jump to post

TUS has 11L/29R (main runway) and an 11R/29L (narrow and doesn't get much use). HAN also has 11L/29R and 11R/29L. So perhaps 11L/29R = TUS (Slightly longer than the one at HAN), and 11R/29L = HAN? P.S. For 17/35 I found one at MSP and one at HOU. Neither are exactly "primary" runway, thou...Jump to post

Great job! I was there in 2013 and enjoyed my time. I spent 4 weeks traveling around the country and did 2 domestic flights. I used Air Mandalay and Yangon Airways. Flying in Myanmar is definitely a unique experience! I loved the hand written boarding cards and the bag tags. Also the lack of domesti...Jump to post

It's also worth remembering that not all rail connections are created equal. For some, the level of service on the rail line stinks. For others, the connection to and from the airport stinks. And some (like, say, FLL) both are bad (shuttle bus to an infrequent rail line). The best airport/transit l...Jump to post
Noteworthy Aircraft Activity 2/8 359: ICN-ATL flight diverted to MSP - medical? I just got the change notification today and it saddens me as i was flying that route specifically to say i had flown SYD-IAH. But that's not all they changed. I was also notified that the outbound flight SFO-SYD will now be operated by a Boeing 737-900. 737-900 ?? Yes. It's listed as a Boeing 737-...Jump to post

Just booked JFK-LIS on a TAP A330 NEO, excited to give it a try. I always thought the A330 was one of the ugliest commercial aircraft but it looks a lot better with these updates. I still think the winglets look a little off, but better than the "square" ish ones from before. :grumpy: Tha...Jump to post

Note that they upsized the planes from B737-8 to B757-300. That’s an increase from 160 to 225 per flight, or 40%. That means that they decreased the frequency by 36% but increased the seats per flight by 40%. That leaves the amount of seats pretty much unchanged and a daily service. Wasn't it a 757...Jump to post
Looks smart professional modern and minimises the Erin go Bragh, top of the morning gibberish ... The regular, near constant use of the "Oirish" term is very telling. A thought came up. How does one log this. Is it logged under Aer Lingus or under Cityjet? From what I've read It seems like maybe Aer Lingus, as they've taken over the route in an official capacity and certain planes have been transferred to them, however, the crews will remain Cityjet. Maybe log it...Jump to post

Well the rescue 767 came from SEA, so not sure what MSP, SLC or LAX has to do with anything. What am I missing? What you’re missing is the plane departed SEA, it wasn’t necessarily a spare sitting in SEA. It could have been anywhere in the DL system and flown into SEA. They departed SEA to avoid a ...Jump to post
Thanks everyone so far for the great ideas. Many are intriguing. I am now toying with the idea of flying AMS-MAD on Air Europa's B787 (maybe currently it is an A330, but on the dates in may I am looking at it will be a 787, at least for now). and then again trying to get on LATAM from MAD to FRA (in...Jump to post

This is always a difficult question. I've been lucky to travel to some amazing places but one of my all time favorites had been to Burma in 2013. I have never had to transfer at MSP, since I live here, but i would say that 2 hours will be more than enough time. I saw those options, but they really won't work. We need to be back home on the 5th. Hoping they will route us a different route. On the outbound, we are on AA vis MSP, which doesn't show up online. Yep, I agree. I tried to reason that with her, but to no avail. She was very robotic. I'll just await the email and then call back. This happened on the outbound as well - exact same situation. if they can route you to DEN or MSP you can pick up your own cheepo flight on Frontier or Spirit that makes connections, otherwise good luck! Great story, though I've also never seen this photo before.
Would have been awesome to have flown it! Dare to dream
Wouldn't 25 overbooked be enough to see if one of their smaller planes could make an extra flight? 400 unhappy customers is pretty extreme, especially when it was JAL's fault. The problem would be that an extra section could not be readied before the airport closed for the night, and an equipment s...Jump to post
