I was talking about TSA screening after you clear customs. Once you clear customs you are cleared onto your connecting flight. I know precisely what you're talking about and no, you're not correct. Once you clear customs you must also go through TSA screening before going to your connecting flight....Jump to post
With eliminating PHL-FRA entirely, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see CLT-FRA go on an A333 next summer. As noted above, CLT-FRA/MUC have numerous contracts which are beneficial. Although, LH has a grip on the lucrative BMW contract that helps support their CLT-MUC flight. Which I don’t see going any...Jump to post
What routes do they fly the 333 on? I’ve flown from DUB - PHL/, CLT & ORD but I’m pretty sure they were all 332s. Comfortable aircraft but the J cabins were starting to show a bit of wear so if they’re keeping them around they’ll need a bit of TLC From CLT, 2 year round A333 to LHR. Seasonal FC...Jump to post
Operationally, CLT is far enough over where it won’t be detrimental to the operation. “Except” for anything CLT-ILM/CHS/EWN/MYR etc etc. Still way to early to predict its path of course and the intensity of the storm especially where it goes once it’s as well. For CLT, high winds would be my concern...Jump to post
As expected, AA is protecting its turf by adding GDL from CLT. Winter seasonal, begins January 6th and runs through April 1st. Operated on an A319. Tickets will be available for purchase on September 3rd. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2018/08/31/american-airlines-ad...Jump to post
Simple, CLT-Germany works really well and can do it better than PHL could.Jump to post
WOW, they dropped PHL-FRA. Not on aa.com either. **AA FRA-PHL APR 0.9>0[0.8] MAY 1.0>0[1.0] Wow, also gone... **AA MUC-PHL APR 1.0>0[0.8] MAY 1.0>0[1.0] I get that these are *A hubs, but amazing they are flying deep into Europe into markets like Bologna and yet can't make a first tier market like F...Jump to post
Also, I wonder if the gate crunch is at least somewhat of a factor in moving PHL-MUC down to CLT. AA's been hard up for widebody international arrival gates at certain times at PHL for awhile now, and CLT still has plenty of capacity at CLT. Perhaps it's time to consider a new A-Far West for AA at ...Jump to post
Somewhat awesome news on CLT-MUC!! Very skeptical on how this will impact LH. I like to believe LH is established enough in CLT that they’ll be able to sustain the service.
Will be interesting. Never would’ve guessed this.
Apparently when Phase 1 of Terminal A opened, Delta wanted ALL of it. AA said NO. But...Delta had a good 6-7 gates on A. I think something might be in the works. They have a lot of flying out of RDU as well....mostly RJ, but its sizeable. DL is getting 6 total gates on A con, AA the other 7. There’...Jump to post
Probably the formal announcement for Volaris. I would LOVE if that was the case... Don’t get too excited! I got bashed on here for calling Volaris 2 weekly flights to CLT “fantastic”. Happy for you guys in ABQ! Neat little airport out their, hope the service does well. Hopefully AA can give CLT-ABQ...Jump to post
I wouldn’t put any AA CLT-Asia for the next 5 years minimum. I definitely see BA CLT-LHR, that’s inevitable at this point. CLT-FRA on LH is interesting, it’s CLT largest O/D Europe destination last time I checked but I don’t think LH will add it. If we were in the US days and star alliance, I would ...Jump to post
I was asking because we were told by EXPERTS on here that CLT would be shrunk/right-sized Those so called “experts” on here having been predicting the dooms day of the CLT for as long as I could remember. There lack of knowledge and understanding how important of a role CLT is to AA is mind numbing...Jump to post
Awesome! Another route from F9 out of CLT! Dare I say the word fantastic about it, some users on here find that some of us shouldn’t be excited about the little things regarding CLT service or any little addition to your home airport.
Anyhow! I think this route will do well!
The most logical additions would be: Charlotte Detroit Portland Panama City Bogota I agree on all of these except CLT; especially PDX even though DL already flies the route. The Pacific NW in general is growing so fast its just a matter of time for BA. I remember when BA served SEA and YVR combined...Jump to post
Twice weekly service from a low cost airline that flies to US destinations like Fresno is “fantastic news”??? Wow, there must be even less going on in Charlotte than I thought. It's "fantastic" because CLT needs all the competition that could come in and give AA a much needed run for thei...Jump to post
Another great addition out of CLT! I expect the frequency to increase on this route just like CLT-BGR did this year. Flew Saturday’s only last summer and is now daily in the summer.Jump to post

As has been discussed here before LCC's have historically struggled at CLT. TZ tried CLT-MDW and failed. FL tried CLT-MDW/MCO and failed on both. B6 tried CLT-FLL and failed. WN tried CLT-MCO and failed. B6 service to CLT has been stagnant over the years. I think they are only at 2x E190 now to BOS...Jump to post
Great to see CLT-SAN/SEA get extended to 3 daily in September. Looking for that to continue in the non summer months.Jump to post

Looks like this frequency reduction spans July 1-August 22. Aircraft shortage? Competition from American Eagle's new PIA-CLT flights?
Great effort from CLT!!Jump to post
Emirates, Southwest, and jetBlue JetBlue, overrated? Are you kidding me? -free wifi -free and unlimited drinks/snacks -free Xm radio -free Live tv B6 already serves so many destinations in there almost 17 years of existence. They operate nice planes. Nice to see AA add another route out of CLT!Jump to post
I can also see them (eventually) using the 100 to expand RDU / BOS and other non-mega hub airports where DL has a larger than usual presence. It could make routes that would be tough today (say anything into Chicago) more economically viable while serving corporate contract demands. I would definit...Jump to post
How so? It's a popular route. WN and AS always operate that flight with full loads. It's simply not a large market to have 3 full service carriers. The numbers for Q2 2016 were less than 250 PDEW. Even considering some stimulation and connections 400-500 seats is a lot for the market. And DL is the...Jump to post
I think MCI, STL, AUS, DFW, RDU tech cities to tech cities. I say RDU because there must be a need from the West Coast. AA added it from SJC for the last 3 years over the summer, DL has it from LAX, UA has it to SFO. DL is quite large at RDU. They offer service to CDG now, maybe they're trying to g...Jump to post
Isn't LSO a 300? WN just retired those. If it is a 300, I think it would be appropriate to be on display at DAL, WN HQ, or an aviation museum in Texas given how much WN has changed the industry and is very prideful of its beginnings, in Texas. If they made a 700 into the new LSO, then it is probabl...Jump to post
4 flights to Europe from CLT is great for this time of year. Before the merger it use to be only 2 AA flights and 1 LH. CLT-FRA has been upgraded to an A333 and LHR is still going strong with double A333s. No need for BA when AA has 2 daily flights on it. Would like to see DUB or MAD go year round, ...Jump to post
Great to see CLT-HAV loaded in. Glad to see yet another thinner west coast route go daily out of CLT.Jump to post
Your idea is not far fetched by any means. I myself have thought of something along these lines. I don't think this would happen in the near future based on the fact B6 is committing up to 200 flights from BOS and increasing FLL to 140. With that being said I think there hands are pretty full for th...Jump to post
Thanks for the info. Do all A321s have the same tail design then? Looking through photos now, I guess that's the case, though I assumed only planes with Mint had the Prism tail with the green accents. I guess that was just that — my assumption.[/quote] My pleasure. Correct, it's an A321 only design....Jump to post
Not directly related, but I was at DEN a few weeks ago on a weekday afternoon, and I saw a B6 A321 headed to JFK. It had the green mosaic pattern on the tail, so I assume this was a Mint plane. Does anyone know if this is a one-off? I didn't see any Mint service for sale anywhere when I did a dummy...Jump to post
Great adds for DFW! But as DFW is AA's main connecting hub (or just main hub, period), I wouldn't be surprised to see an FCO flight cut from one of the other hubs that don't have absolutely HUGE O&D. Hahaha "Main hub period". Let's not get carried away here. Just remember which hub pr...Jump to post
