Flights prices to Asia were already incredibly cheap, even nonstop from the eastern US. I never paid more than $700 round trip on UA the last three years I was flying via TPE, twice a year. I'm glad to see UA taking some risks and trying new P2P flying, even if it's Florida. Makes sense if the network is cut down to such bare bones...much harder to get somewhere in a timely manner via a hub these days so why not try to bypass on routes that might have the demand?

Yeah I didn't think October was reasonable. Personally I'm not even sure next summer will be doable for most of these cities as business travel rebounding will lag far behind whenever an eventual return to "normal" is.

UA used to operate EWR-TXL-EWR on a 757 and I am pretty sure the TXL-EWR segment was one of the longest TATL 757 routes. So Taiwan is placing California / NYC / Washington states plus most of the rest of Asia under level 3 quarantine now. Means mandatory 14-days quarantine for anyone arriving from these places. I wonder how long the SFO-TPE route can last at this point?

Almost all of these cuts are Corona related, even if indirectly. Every company has basically instituted a travel ban. Business travel is not going to be a thing for a while. I'd imagine lesser hubs like PHX are probably going to be the most hurt in this.

On April 14 only, PIT-SFO is strangely down to zero nonstops to SFO. I was scheduled on one and just had to move it to Monday night. Funny that our SFO-TPE leg is still fine but not the domestic portion.

Just noticed a change in my PIT-SFO-TPE schedule in April. Looks like on some days, both daily PIT-SFO flights have been scrapped (April 14). Most days are back down to just 1 daily. This coronavirus thing must really be wreaking havoc.

Not sure why you think this. Did you know that they were acquired by PAG/PGL (Polish Airlines Group, owner of LOT) The benefit of the DE PIT-FRA route is having one stop connections to LH's huge network out of the FRA hub. With LH cutting DE off, it's going to drastically drop traffic on the flight...

With LH dropping cooperation with DE, I can't help but think that the PIT-FRA route is now on thin ice. How is that route going to work without onward connections on LH? Is there enough O&D with FRA to keep it alive?

WOW on the AS oneworld thing. I am not a fan of AA at all, but I am loving their recent willingness to fight back with Delta.
