Why on earth would WN do that? Why would they hand a hub (FLL of all places) to a competitor and get nothing in return? B6 was leaving LGB anyway. right, because preliminary schedule for spring is actually going to run. That's how you tell WN's intentions for the future, you are using their current COVID schedule to say that since they have cut a lot of FLL during COVID they must want to give up on FLL (which is wrong for a number of reasons)...

I could actually see a merger between Boeing and Lockheed before we ever see a merger between Boeing and Airbus. Boeing and Lockheed together could shore up the 2 biggest Aerospace Defense contractors in the U.S. and allow some Lockheed engineering expertise into the Commercial Airliner market again.

Interesting tid bit of info from BNA, the new D concourse had its marshal lines and stop marks painted today. All 6 gates are WN’s and they include a stop mark for the MAX 9 and 10. Apparently was done because WN requested it. Yes, MAX10 with 199 seats. 200 seats. Still only need 4 Flight Attendants.

WN as far as I know is still moving ahead with LAWA on plans for the Terminal 1E project that should be complete in the next 4-5 years or so. By then, traffic should have recovered to pre Covid levels to allow WN to resume growth at LAX.

I agree with Barney. We’re hearing a phased introduction of the MAX with the Domiciles he just stated being trained first. DAL, HOU, and DEN is what I’m hearing. WN will also have 9 MAX Simulators up and running for training before June as well.

WN has already taken every (viable) -700 available. Any -700’s that would be available anytime soon would be very high cycle, and at the end of their usable service life. Right now, it’s get the MAX back in the air, or acquire a competitor. The second option is honestly closer to becoming a reality...
