Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2019

It's been said so many times before but Frontier is just mystifying. I can sort of see waffling on PBI - they're ostensibly competing with 2 dailies (WN and NK) to FLL and 3 AA regional jets a day to MIA, and for all O&D as they have zero connection opportunity. PIT-DEN vs CLE though is just a m...

Looks like a last minute equipment sub for the scheduled 739 on the route.

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2019

Let's not waste any more time on cyclical arguments.

Awesome to see the 3rd Qatar flight. FedEx and UPS' upgauges more recently are also promising. The real test at some point in the future will be if a second cargo carrier can be attracted to provide some competition for international freight.

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2019

The FAA states those figures you are listing as totally incorrect Using the FAA's own data, the CPE last year was $12.08. Unless I'm misreading, this years budgeted CPE is $10.35. Obviously that can change but all FAA data points to a downward trend. You demanded proof and it was given. If you're c...

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2019

I heard rumors that Air France may pick up the PIT-CDG route Absent anything credible, I dont think it's very likely Air France announces PIT any time soon. Unlike BAW and DLH, they don't seem apt to take chances on "secondary" markets like Pittsburgh. They tend to keep to Skyteam fortres...

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2019

Has there been any word recently on further charter flights with Caissa Touristic, either with China Eastern or someone else?

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2018

The only way WN would be able to do the PIT to PHL flight is if they cut the flights to BWI. Since most people would just drive from Baltimore to Philadelphia. I'm not sure what driving from BWI to PHL has to do with airline flights from PIT to either BWI or PHL. I don't either frankly. Baltimore t...

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2018

PIT-LAX is 1,856NM which is well with in the range of the A220. It would be a long flight in a little plane and I don’t think that would be a good selling point to the customer. Not when Southwest is flying 737s to LAX and Spirit flies A320s to LAX. United flies a mixture of A320s and 737s to SFO. ...

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2018

What are the chances Delta takes a swing at PIT-LAX with the A220 once it starts taking deliveries in earnest? That seems like it would be an ideal route to open with the CS100/A221 - long and "thin," given how UA/AA/WN seem to perceive it. I'd love to see Alaska bolster their presence her...

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread - 2018

Don't go to Atlantic Aviation. I got kicked out of there in January and it almost escalated. Just curious, are we talking the garage there or somewhere else near Atlantic? I went there once or twice early on when spotting but haven't been back in years. Its probably for the best, I wasn't aware the...

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread Part 34

Viva Aerobus, at least this last year, was operating Vacation Express' summer charters to CUN. I spotted them departing 7/9 and 7/23.

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread Part 34

I'm honestly curious: why does it matter if PIT is "lax" about handing out incentives? They're clearly spending that money wisely given the sustainability of the PIT-CDG flight and the surprising gains the WOW and Condor flights have made. Qatar Cargo feels like an attempt to demonstrate a...

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread Part 34

So if I'm reading their schedule correctly, we should be looking at a 9am arrival for the first QR Cargo flight on Wednesday? Seems like it shifts to an night arrival and early AM departure after the inaugural.

Re: PIT Update Discussion Thread Part 34

jetBlue upgauged their 10:30am arrival, flight 1485, the last 3 days to an A320, which was a nice surprise yesterday while spotting. It appears they're back to E190s tomorrow but jetBlue's scheduling seems a bit more volatile than most. Any chance this is a sign of something permanent given the incr...
