It was the case (not sure if still the case) that the USA wouldn't let PIA fly direct from Pakistan to the USA as they considered it to be too much of a security risk - instead the USA insisted that the plane land somewhere beforehand (Manchester), everyone be rescreened at an airport which the USA...

Seems like pure cockpit failure. Clear weather, Fuel available, Engine power available before series of incidents starts happening, but Aircraft crashed. Very rare in Aviation history.

So far 2 survivors are getting reported to be taken to hospital and 1 declared badly injured but will survive. I also had ticket booked with Emirates in November 2019 to travel in July 2020. Fare says it is not refundable.

Now, the situation have changed completely, not sure what is the Emirates policy for refund?

That's what I was wondering, too. If they claimed to have a degree in something unrelated to flying just to make their resume look better, but their flight school training is valid then that's one thing. Iran is strange. Indians don't even need a visa to travel there yet Pakistanis can't even transfer there without a visa. Actually how many indians would overstay in Iran - almost none. The news within AA is that a daily direct flight to ISB will be announced in the last week of November. Really? I can expect BA returning to ISB, but touching down AA is difficult to believe. PIA is operating 4X weekly to YYZ and just twice weekly to JFK. JFK is loss making route for PIA. For N.A. Best thing PIA could do is to extensive code share with TK and start daily flight one each from KHI, ISB, and LHE to IST with onward connection via TK metal.
