It was in the news this week that AF and KLM were trading airplane orders. KLM would have all the 787’s and AF would have all the A350’s and A330’s. So, A350’s and 773’s would pick up the slack of the removed A380’s.
Great to see the A220 maybe coming in.

Remember that LCY is expanding, more ramps, taxiways, and terminal. The A220 can also fly direct from LCY to JFK.

Airlines know how many people are requesting flights from a place to a place. As far as Toronto to Moscow, it is easier to fly to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, or London and then catching a flight to Moscow.

Does anyone one know there future fleet plans? There fleet is extremely old and needs replacing. I am not sure they would go to Boeing, but they may go to Airbus.
Maybe pick-up some used A330-300’s from Singapore?

He can’t use Moxy, so maybe “Spunk”. It fits the plane they want to use. “Neeleman’s Spunk” does have a certain ring to it, that’s for sure. Not sure it’ll appeal to the family crowd though... As someone else said I’d imagine it’ll be a trendy one word title in the vein of Moxy, Spirit, Swoop, etc....

Airbus and Bombardier should look at the A220-500, as well they should look at scaling up the plane to be the A320, A321 replacement.

The 2018 delivery number is 33.
Airbus is only opening one line in Mobile and wants to expand the facility in Canada. There was talk on a local news station about mobile doing finishing of aircraft.

Remember all the fires on the 787’s due to batteries? Yes, batteries are getting better, but I will wait until things are perfect before flying on one. The other problem is that nobody know what to do with batteries after they are done. How to deal with problem.

Red Deer is approx. an hour and forty minutes to the Calgary and Edmonton airports, what’s the point? I can see charter service like Sunwing did up at Grande Prairie.

I can see it. Malaysia Airlines Had to get rid of there 772, nobody wanted to fly in one. I can see people wanting to stay away from the 737max.

Scale up the A220. Airbus already has access to all the design and engineering that Bombardier has done. This should give Airbus a leg up or at least a head start,

It makes sense if the lease rates are too high and the lessor didn't offer AF a good enough deal to renew. AF also have the option to buy them from the lessor. I can see Delta picking up some A330-800’s. The 800 is the true replacement right now for the 767-300’s and thoughts 767 are getting old. Unless Boeing can get off the pot and get going on there new plane.

No, they sold it to Longview Aviation Capital. Sound like they are getting out of the commercial aircraft business. Maybe they sold off the Q Series was part of a bigger plan to sell off the rest to Airbus?

BA already has orders for the A350-1000 and the B787-10. They are probably getting some great intell on the A350-900 from Iberia. I could see BA order A350-900 to replace there entire B772 fleet over time.

Typically airlines have not gone back to retrofit the scimitar. New plane have the latest and the older model have the older version.

Makes sense - American and British Airways are closely aligned. BA is just flying to Americans Hubs as Virgin flys several flights to Delta’s hub in Atlanta.

Is this plan set up in United’s standard interior package or has the interior been fitted out the transport a professional sports teams. I can’t see the Dodger flying there players in a standard layout. If this plane has been transformed then it is not flying as much as it would with regular folk.

One thing for sure is that they better start building another concourse on terminal one - not enough slots.
Two the Pickering lands where hand over to the airport authority years ago. It takes years to engage, plan, design and build an airport. Stage one maybe ready by 2030 if they start now.

Both runways have these huge sets of approach lights. They were not even lined up with them and as they go closure did not figure that out. Asleep at the wheel.

What is the replacement plane? There is no question that B1900, SAAB’s, and Dash 8-100 and -200 are getting old. That is the replacement in a propeller plane. Everyone is going bigger, what about the small plane that is still needed.

Air Canada has been getting 737 MAX at a pretty good pace and they have not been removing A320’s at the same pace. They were getting rid of the E190’s anyways, so why not fill the that gap with A320’s for now.

My first thought when hearing about this diversion was that it was a 787 with Rolls Royce Engines.
