For CLE, this isn't that many seats to fill to Europe when looking at the big picture. Right now, roughly 27% of enplanements at CLE are on an ULCC. That's well over 2 million passengers per year. The PD in a clumsily worded article is reporting that June numbers are about 880K pax for the month. An 11% increase by the DoT data would be about 850K, but CLE includes charters. On the Frontier app there are no flights bookable from Portland after 1 November. The only destination is DEN and you cannot select a flight to book. I think the most interesting route of all is DEN-YYC! If I recall correctly, none of the US based LCC and ULCC fly directly to Canada. So that right there is huge if they do indeed launch Calgary!

Actually to edit what I posted above a few days ago, that was actually an edit to their October schedule, not the actual extension past November 1. Interestingly, the schedule they have in place for October is likely not final as there are aircraft on the ground for 8+ hours before the next departur...

The morning WN CLE-MKE departure continues on to PHX with this extension. The nonstop CLE-PHX is a mid day departure. That should help prop up the new nonstop CLE-MKE route through the dead of winter. There will likely be a lot of through pax on that flight.

B6 will be switching the CLE-FLL route to a morning departure to Florida and late evening return to CLE beginning late October. I noticed that the old US Airways gates at the end of the A concourse already have Frontier branding installed now that American has moved to C concourse. Frontier at times has 5 planes on the ground at CLE, so I could see the need for more gates.
