AC Passenger left on plane at remote stand at YYZ

That being said, although crazy stuff occasionally happens, Boeing really doesn't need to be any more in the news right now.

Re: SW 737MAX returns to MCO after engine failure during repo.

If memory serves, MD did create a major PR campaign starring a former Apollo astronaut to try and extols the virtues of the DC-10. It didn’t matter. The damage was done. The MD-80 carried the company along and into the 90s, but the failure of the company to create a true A300/767 type aircraft led ...

Re: Could AA cancel their 737 MAX orders?

Could they? Of Course. Airbus will be quite accommodating. Will they? Probably not. Boeing will do what they need to do in order to keep the orders. They might get a price cut, or some features upgraded, I'm sure both Boeing and AA will be happy in the end. Now, we may see lots of orders for MAX tha...

To my eye, the modern version is easier to read from afar. The thinner strokes and increased separation between elements result in shapes that can be easily understood from further away.

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

I suppose one way would be to use the dot matrix (not sure what the real name is) approach, such as on the tails of BA and AA planes. From a distance, the Union Jack on the BA tail appears to reflect light where it "ripples", and the stripes on the AA "flag" fade from dark to li...

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

The dots on the BA A380 tails were indeed done using stencils but someone still had to punch out the stencil to start with! They use a cutting tool that is digitally controlled and is essentially just like your normal inkjet printer, except they have razor blades of various sizes and they're much, ...

Re: B737MAX Grounded Worldwide

The team sports mentality (my team is always right, your team is always wrong) is harmful in online discussions, and deadly in engineering, certification & review practices. But I think the other half, is that the MAX is an aircraft designed by a demand to get more airplane for less money and wo...

The Sept 11 Stop was ordered by FAA National Operations Manager Ben Sliney.

Re: Should airline regulators consider grounding B737 MAX series

Honestly, this is good news, but I hope we see a turn towards facts - which he seemed to allude to. There does seem to be some not-public information out there, and the fact that apparently Boeing/FAA were already working on a significant mcas fix that was delayed by the shutdown might be also perti...

Re: SFO Set to be Level 3 Slot Controlled

I think growth in the Bay Area is going to continue, although I think the next big recession/depression will push the next big spurt of growth out another decade.

Eventually another airport will have to get built, but that's another discussion.

Re: NH175 LAX-NRT returning to LAX due to a passenger being onboard who shouldnt be onboard

I am just an average outsider who pays for my ticket and hopes to arrive at my destination. As such I do not understand the decision to return to LAX rather than sorting it out at the destination. The stowaway was boarded due to the airline's screw up. He had a ticket to the destination on a differ...
