The XJ info would have much more weight if it came from someone senior in Commercial Dept. You can believe what you want. What he said is exactly what senior management had passed on to staff. I've got no reason to doubt him. As for their expectations only they could tell you what the expectations ...Jump to post
XJ (Thai AirAsia X) are shutting down from 5 April to 30 June. At this stage they expect to resume ops 1 July.Jump to post

Does anyone know when (if) Thai Air Asia X will start sending the A330neo to BNE? Probably once they take delivery of more of them, the second one has just been delivered They are only taking two for the time being. BNE will see them soon. They planned to operate them into NRT, NGO and BNE initially.Jump to post
[photoid][/photoid] No they did not. You're probably confusing the paint job- the Thai Lion 330's had already been painted in Malindo colours before group head office decided to transfer the aircraft to Thai Lion- only the titles were changed, tail remained in Malindo colours. Which is actually the ...Jump to post
Based on what I gather, the scheduled 77W for this flight was subbed with a 744, which created some complications. It may have led to mismatched crew, for one thing, and it also led to a situation in which J passengers were able to assign themselves to the F cabin, which is not sold for this flight...Jump to post
This is the actual story from a source within TG... That actually the station manager refused to give the seats to passive crew and never communicated with the purser or captain on what was going on. In the complaint the pax said all pax had been asked of they would move. But purser had asked the p...Jump to post

**Warning, a bit of a read** Date: 01 October 2018 I've linked a few photos for your enjoyment throughout. Around mid August, a week before my birthday a friend messaged me saying Qantas will operate an extension to the QF55/56 flight that operates between LAX-BNE, that being it would continue to SY...Jump to post
On another note, Ah well. I’m re routing via CBR to at least log a Q300. Don't hold your breath. The chance of that flight either having an equipment swap to a Q400 or being cancelled outright is very, very high. That’s ok, any prop will do ;) worst case I’ll take the next flight which is a B717 too.Jump to post
On another note, Myself and about a dozen others were booked on one of the upcoming QF56 BNE-SYD flights, ours being 1 October. Sadly QF cancelled it all together and by default put us on a boring 738. Was going to be my last chance to get a QF 744 I’d say. Ah well. I’m re routing via CBR to at leas...Jump to post
tullamarine wrote:It may have been covered elsewhere but what is the story with the EK Expo 2020 A380 that has been sitting ant the end of the northern runway at MEL for the past few weeks?
The largest Taiwanese population is in BNE as others have said, and whilst they are only 4/5 per week they do it very well with high LF in the mid to high 80s consistently. They have been doing a lot of radio and TV advertising lately leveraging off the most recent skytrax rating and their “5 Star a...Jump to post
Qantas Freight using their freighters or belly space of Qantas aircraft handle most OS airfreight. EK bring a lot in from EU and US, I got a UPS parcel last year and it went to their sort facility in New York, then Dubai, before coming to Sydney and finally Brisbane. The vast majority of air freight...Jump to post
I flew MCY-MEL on a 717 in Jan. is that also getting flicked? That flight was only ever seasonal (and, until now, I'd seen nothing to suggest it had operated at all over summer 17-18). As I mentioned earlier in the thread, the B717s are being withdrawn from MEL but not from HBA. They will no longer...Jump to post
Vietjet signed a deal to buy 8 A321LR (with the help of QLD govt) to operate routes such as the once announced to BNE. They are expected to be far less dense than their current A321 and possibly have 4-8 J seats up front with a few rows of extra legroom behind. Narrowbodies such as the A321LR are th...Jump to post

[photoid][/photoid] My money for TG is on double 77W daily and during peaks upgraded to A380 (1 x daily) I'll love to see TG A380's on the BKK-SYD route but TG have redirected the big bus on European routes FRA, CDG, LHR. They'll be 2 class with them referring to the business class as "premium economy" though they mention they'll be lay flat... perhaps similar to D7. *TG won't be going 10 abreast on 777s * they are committed to offering F, bkk may not be a premium heavy destination in its own right but it's got large connections and many pax transit bkk flying F . * 787s and a handful of 777 will be getting a cabin update and reconfiguration. Nice report, thanks for sharing! An avgeek would never miss the oppurtunity to see a special kind of aircraft...and you did exactly that! Lucky you with the empty VA B737! Always fun to be on a long flight with a few people around. I was under the impression that VA is a LCC, so kinda surprised to ...Jump to post

A while back an unnamed airline filed for slots PVG-BNE-HBA-BNE-PVG ops by a 777 supposedly to start a few months ago. They come and go and nothing happened. I wonder if this announcement is aligned with that. the 767F would have to make a tech stop either way....Jump to post
I was at Wellcamp this morning for the QF A330 flight. Conflicting reports say it came up empty from SYD, however it only picked up around 40 pax in WTB. It took a delegation from the Toowoomba and Surat basin region for the AccessChina 2016 conference in PVG. Things at Wellcamp are really ramping u...Jump to post
Yes there are errors in the article however, TG have not been informed of a decision by CASA despite nearly 120 days passing since the application. There's been no reason supplied for the delay either.
Before you speculate the Incident at HKT had zero to do with it.
