According to aviation law, if even one passenger gets off the plane before takeoff, all passengers must also get off and go through security checks again for safety reasons.


Is this unique to Hong Kong? I'm rather curious the purpose of that.

HA, I believe, have quite a few long flights without flat beds, at least until their retrofits.

Possibly the UA ORD-HNL flights. Dunno about what UA has on IAD-HNL, but I know they have the flat bed 764 on EWR.

If they were going that route, wouldn't they try to buy the C-Series rather than re-engineer a similar plane? They could also probably get quite a bargain on the CSeries given its lack of success. The vast majority of consumers are voting with their wallet and not by the meal service Everyone loves to say this. I would be interested to know what the "awful" timings are flights to Asia fromSFO are? I would argue that Asia-timed transcon flights in particular, such as the old PIT timing, were particularly alienating to O&D on either end, requiring people flying to SFO to get up miserably early...

I think it's also easy to overlook how for HKG-HNL is. A good 5500~ miles! Further than HNL-JFK! So, a 330-200 could do that, but not a 767, but good question if there's really enough interest for that anyways. It also goes right over TPE, so TPE is probably already the good connecting spot.
