Colonial period was a universally dark time for all the countries. No sane country would be interested in maintaining "colonial legacy" If any flight exists today it's purely because of commercial reasons Today’s commercial reasons often have past colonial ties. There is a reason KLM flie...Jump to post

I thought CX is able to capture a lot of the premium traffic between Vancouver and NY. The timing of the flights are perfect for business travelers too. I guess just filling the F and C cabin on a 77W is not enough. I notice that on AC’s YVR-EWR-YVR flights, J and W are almost always booked full a ...Jump to post
One official announcement could be BA LGW-UVF, as an increase in airlift is def on the horizon since VS is planning to axe the route. What about a LGW-SVD-GEO-LGW ? These are also some former colonies that haven't been served yet, though I'm not sure if the demand to warrant launching either route i...Jump to post

AA will start flights to Morocco next June which is in West Africa.
If need be I'm sure the government would be sure there is more public transport to YHM. There is already Megabus which goes right to the airport as well as GoTransit which foes to downtown Hamilton. YHM's airfield is already very condensed with their regular operations and would need to be expanded....Jump to post
LGW: Along with MCO, the A350-1000 would be in the Caribbean during winter months and covering the current 744 routes. A339 during the low season.
MAN: BGI will see a fleet mix of both the new aircraft along with JFK,ATL,MCO.

BA 747-200 and 747-400 served BGI from LGW and seasonally from LHR until the early 2000s when the entire got Caribbean switched to the then new 777-200ERs. Some of BA's Caribbean service was shared between some islands like ANU, POS, UVF etc.Jump to post

Maybe CAL should try 2xweekly KIN BZE. There seems to be decent traffic there. 738 might be overkill though Not if it's routed KIN-GCM-BZE Precisely. IMHO its time the english speaking Caribbean is connected without having to route via PTY or MIA/FLL. The 738 on POS-CUR does seem like an overkill.....Jump to post
Anyone think DL will reenter the Barbados or Trinidad markets again? From ATL or JFK? UA makes IAH and EWR work and AA even makes CLT work. Maybe its time DL reentered these markets. Re POS, I don't think so. NYC is now essentially a bloodbath with BW at 3x daily, B6 at 2x and UA at 1x. As you note...Jump to post
DL already tried BGI not that long ago and decided to leave. Fares can get quite low outside of peak periods. MIA BGI is $210 R/T (excl taxes) and JFK BGI is $260 (excl fees). With AA at daily on the CLT BGI maybe DL isnt going to compete out of ATL. I am fairly sure that this route is an MRG. Delt...Jump to post

Something to also note is that The Concorde Experience was located at BGI's airport. The museum is far out of the way of many tourist attractions as its in the eastern part of the island. Can someone explain the MIA-Africa market for me? MIA/JFK/PHL to ACC or LOS. Nigeria for example, offers O&D and VFR, and as the largest economy on the continent the route could be sustainable. If AA takes a big chunk out of PY's MIA-GEO business, then it's hard to see how PY can sustain its MIA routes. Yes I especially agree with the NYC focus at ANU. Despite having a smaller population and VFR market than does BGI its winter airlift isn't that far behind.
