UA is currently operating on C38 while gates on B are rebuilt (concrete pad replacement). Currently B33 and B37 are out of service for that. Yep, just departed from C38 on Tuesday on a United flight. I have now flown on United out A, B, and C this year on domestic flights. I did a double take on my...Jump to post
Hmmm New Airline by year's end https://www.wibc.com/news/local-news/indy-airport-celebrates-10th-birthday-while-eying-expansion Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk Shhhh, don’t tell anyone, but it’s JetBlue ;) The way it is written you would assume so but watch it be Spirit or Sun Country...Jump to post
Crap, they also just followed DUB Airport Twitter right after I posted this. Maybe they trying to throw us off the scent, but AMS did come first. Ha! Makes for a fun morning, anyway. Edit: and the widget is making other S19 transatlantic announcements today... When? When and where for the other Del...Jump to post
Wow! Dubrovnik...never thought I would see that day. I had read Dubrovnik was negotiating flights with the US but that is really shocking nonetheless. In any case, Iberia is up to three daily in summer in MAD-DBV and many passengers connect to the US, so they know the numbers. So for S19 DBV will h...Jump to post
Back from Queenstown I flew ZQN-WLG-SYD-SFO-ORD-IND instead of a more direct routing of ZQN-AKL-SFO-IND It was an award ticket and were the only segments I could availability. Ended up having enough time to wander Wellington for a couple of hours and overnighted in Sydney and walked around the opera...Jump to post
https://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2018/04/19/colorado-eco-devo-leaders-offer-big-incentives-to.html This is behind a paywall but the Colorado Economic Development Commission approved $400k in incentives to an unnamed airline to potentially begin a new nonstop to Europe in 2019. The article sa...Jump to post
Was on the red eye to Denver from Lihue just a few days ago! Flight was full (same going from Denver to Lihue). It also seemed like a lot of people knew each other on the flight (but didn’t know they were gonna be on it). Lots of O&D traffic from Denver to the islands as well! Definitely a heal...Jump to post

Good to see MSY get some love especially on top of the new airport opening next year. Looks beautiful!
Perhaps someone who’s more savvy can help me with RNO? I tried what Midwestindy suggested and while it shows more destinations, everything still routes through DEN on the same limited flights. It is RNO-AUS. With all the other adds it appears AUS is a new focus city for Frontier, would have never p...Jump to post
I think it would be really hard for UA to create a new southeast hub. ATL is such a beast that competing against without any real presence already would be extremely difficult. CLT is similar. Is there really enough passengers for another hub? Not even factoring in WN and B6 which both have focus ci...Jump to post

List seems to bold. But I do believe DL extended SLC-IND to year-round this year. G4 SJU-IND Seems feasible with no other carrier or charter serving it. Works from CVG and they just added the base to IND. I agree someone will do SAN-IND year-round (it is silly not too, demand is stable throughout t...Jump to post
Some IND stuff going on https://www.ibj.com/articles/65020-united-launches-another-flight-from-indy-to-san-francisco Already announced a while ago.. Looks as if DL/UA/F9 upgauged a few of their flights today, in anticipation for Gen Con Side note: According to the airport the top unserved markets a...Jump to post
Looks like WN is adding a one-stop Louisville- Boston flight. Maybe this could lead to a nonstop flight. http://www.bizjournals.com/louisville/news/2017/06/21/exclusive-southwest-airlines-adds-new-flight.html Kinda random to see an article about a 1 stop direct flight somewhere. But SDF-BOS is not ...Jump to post
I really don't expect much in terms of exciting new routes/cities from a schedule extension. Generally when Southwest announces a new international destination it is separate announcement from a schedule extension. For example, GCM and PLS were separate announcements. From FLL, it was noted that WN ...Jump to post
I'd say Frankfurt FRA. Less than a million inhabitants, still one of the worlds largest airports. I'd look at the metro population of a city... Which would better represent the catchment area. Frankfurt has over 5 million people in the metro area. A 12x multiplier Anyway KEF comes to mind. 6+ milli...Jump to post
Since this is for the end of the year holiday period, I would be very surprised if they opened any new markets with this schedule. I also think, there will be some traditional non-peak schedule trimming. Dots to sunny location could get connected, and I'm still thinking FLL needs better connectivit...Jump to post
Somewhere in addition to FLL would be helpful here. I enjoy flying SWA, but that would take 2 plane changes for me to get there. I'm sure others would be in a similar situation. Why not BWI or MDW also? Ditto here. 2 plane changes and taking most of a day to get there and back would be a real negat...Jump to post
crazytoaster do you think we will see anything on hawaii on this next schedule release due out may 18 2017 now that max 9 starts oct.1? Haha, I have no clue. No insider knowledge here. I think the MAX 8 helps the case for WN to add Hawaii sooner rather than later. Personally it would be great if th...Jump to post
we get 2 more schedule releases for 2017 cycle correct? not counting today's release... Doesn't look like it. Just one more that covers both Thanksgiving and Christmas / New Years. I believe they usually split those into two extension but I guess not now https://www.southwest.com/html/travel-tools/...Jump to post
March has definitely been the month of AAG! E175 nonstop from SAN to MSP, OMA, MCI, ABQ, STL, AUS http://finance.yahoo.com/news/alaska-airlines-california-growth-continues-113000065.html Still no PHX-Cali announcements in the AAG network?? :o :o Great adds by AS! No IND-SAN but WN is adding that th...Jump to post
AUS, BWI, IND, OMA, MCI, MCO, STL are my two-cents. I'd be surprised if IND was added. Don't recall SJC being talked about ever. I could be wrong but I don't think it is happening. Ya I would be very surprised to see IND-SJC. However, I could see AS add IND-SFO later down the road. Only UA overs it...Jump to post
I think it'll be some time until you see NK at some of the medium/small sized airports above, you know what's crazy though? I see NK adding DTW to PIT, IND and ORD to PIT. DTW has about 100 to 150 each way for both IND and PIT, DL's high fares generally restrict the amount of people that fly so it'...Jump to post
Surprised to see WN apply for so much from HOU. In their analysis of DL/AM MEX market they listed potential routes DEN/PHX/Others - MEX. I suppose there is a round 2 for the next set.
B6 LGB-MEX good luck with that
AS I like their applications but why not just go straight for 737s on all the routes.
Read the fine print at the bottom. It includes regional affiliates. That is huge, because it creates a much greater statistical means to measure them by and also because AA sometimes has zero control of operations within their regional affiliates. That means that AA's numbers will be enhanced 10 fo...Jump to post
Prediction: VPS won't last out of IND. Completely random market. Not sure why 2x weekly to AUS. Seems a little strange for a business destination. According to faremeasure.com, 457 people travel to AUS from IND daily. That route needs daily at minimum. Maybe 2x daily M-F. A morning and evening flig...Jump to post

Maybe finally adding CVG. Apparently there is a construction bid for 4 gates out with a completion date of July 15th, 2017 from the Ohio thread. Matches up well with WN's schedule extension dates.
I don't see anything new route wise. At least from IND.
There are some crazy routings that show up in the booking engine. Like 4+ stops, not sure if that is supposed to be there or is a glitch.
4) Order larger RJs to replace the 50 seaters REWARD: Lower CASM, slightly better pilot situation vs 50 seater rates RISK: Probably still a big problem for staffing. Does the mainline pilot contract allow tons more 70 seaters? Probably not. They already decided not to do this when they ordered 737-...Jump to post

Curious to see what adds they have from FLL. Guessing that it will be for the booking period after next (next is Nov 1 release but only for 2 weeks...)
Will we actually see new International destinations. BOG, SXM, PTY all come to mind and makes sense from FLL.
I think UA has looked at closing IAD and creating a new hub. I'd think TPA would be a second choice behind RDU in such a scenario, but I think RDU is a much better choice because there isn't enough USA south of TPA and it's Latin ties are too weak compared to MIA/FLL/MCO. RDU makes alot more sense ...Jump to post
Strange. WN definitely did not announce LGB-DEN. Checked random dates and couldn't find the nonstop flights. It would be a very good add.
Maybe it is a one off or an announcement soon. CMH-OKC showed up on the routemap thanks to a couple of one of flights because of Ohio State football game.
