Wow, I didn’t know Finland had that few I thought it was more like Norway than Sweden. Norway stretches a bit longer, but also has half the population of sweden. OSL had 12 Million domestic travellers in 2019. Quite a spectacular difference. The reason for the high domestic numbers at OSL is a crap...Jump to post

When was this? I have no recollection of such a flight, are you sure it was easyJet? On an unrelated note, seems like JU's BEG-OSL flight is performing fantastically despite covid. This afternoon's flight out of BEG has 6 in business and 120 in economy! Last Sunday's flight to BEG had 110 passenger...Jump to post

AY continues the suspension of flights to Mainland China until 30 April 2020 and 1 of 2 daily flights to HKG is suspended until the end of April 2020. When did they end OUL? I think they have tried ARN-OUL at least three times over the last 10-15 years and it never lasted long. Not profitable/enough passengers. They only flew 3 or 4 weekly when both Norwegian and Finnair up to 12 daily, so they couldn't compete. EDIT: Oh, you said when, not why. ...Jump to post
How often did they fly the route and what equipment did they use? I guess bad news just keeps on rolling in for ARN. Last year they lost some 1.2 million passengers from what I can see. They went from 26.8 to 25.6 3-4 weekly with CRJ. When did they end OUL? I think they have tried ARN-OUL at least ...Jump to post

Is the 00:05 arrival enough time for the late bank? I find it interesting how aggressive Finnair is all of a sudden in Italy. Then again it's not that surprising given the state of Alitalia and how uncompetitive they have become. So they have three midnight departures at the moment? (HND, KIX and P...Jump to post
It's a new decade, which means new things to come in Nordic aviation. Particularly based on Finnair's recent strategy change, I forecast the following things to happen at HEL during the given time period: Pre-2025 - Flights added to 5:00-10:00, 11:00-14:00 and 19:00-01:00 banks - Growth in China: d...Jump to post

Yes, LH is offering very good prices via FRA and MUC and KL is nowadays a lucrative option too but you lose quite a bit of time especially when travelling on a short trip. IIRC FR tried the CRL - TMP route at some point and now that FR has presence at BRU, maybe they could try it from there again. ...Jump to post
It's a bloody nightmare - I travel from Brussels to Helsinki quite a lot for work and usually have to travel with KL via AMS, LHR via FRA/MUC or SK via OSL/CPH/ARN. I can't believe that AY get away with charging so much on that route - it is often up towards €1,000 return. Isn't AY codesharing with...Jump to post
Could the reason be that other airlines have tried and flown the route before, but found it unprofitable/unsustainable? HEL-BRU is a route with only so much O/D demand - it's not like HEL-LON, HEL-PAR or HEL-FCO where lower prices can stimulate significantly more demand. HEL-BRU probably is a good ...Jump to post
Sichuan Airlines flight 3U8271 has departed for HEL with a seven-minute delay. Estimated arrival time is 05.28 local, thirty minutes ahead of schedule, four hours and twenty minutes from now. I heard that Tibet Airlines would end Helsinki-Jinan in October. I was under the impression that this was the plan all along. It’s basically just charter flights for Chinese tour groups, never meant to be a permanent route. Well, they should make it seasonal. It seems like waste of money to axe a w...Jump to post

Finnair seems to be ending its Chongqing service on June 26, 2020 as no direct flights are bookable from this date onwards. Sad to see this route go but I assume there are good reasons behind this. As the route is flown 4x weekly during the summer season with Airbus A330, this made me think whether...Jump to post
