Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

It continues to seem less and less likely but I would still like to see WN take a shot at CMH-LGA We need LCC or ULCC competition from someone on Columbus-NYC Fares are insane on the legacies, and there's no mainline to speak of This would make me so happy. I fly CMH-LGA a lot on DL and I would lov...

Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

I believe WN is the best candidate for those routes, but their recent pullback across their network to instead fuel Hawaii flying leads me to believe these routes are a ways off. At least until the MAX is flying again. I was just about to agree with you on WN being reluctant to make adds when Enilr...

Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

The July numbers and August CRAA Board Agenda are out for CMH and LCK. At CMH 5% YOY pax growth overall (6.4% YTD). Individual carriers are the same story as the last few months (UA impressive growth, AS impressive load factor). At LCK another nice month for G4 up 21%(!) YOY and another slow month ...

Re: Next wave of TATL per Boyd Group

Regarding the missing Cleveland prediction by Boyd, note that these are just his guesses. He has Columbus, Ohio on the list. But comparing CLE to CMH, Cleveland is a much larger market, both in population AND size of the economy; plus looking at the last few years, CLE GDP is growing faster than Co...

Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

I would think upguaging CMH-LGA to mainline during peak hours would come before CMH-AUS by DL. Perhaps it is wishful thinking, but it would be a great A220 route if not a 717 route. AA has thrown an E190 for a single frequency for the summer. Maybe a sign of times to come? Piggybacking off that, it...

Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

Not sure how accurate FR24 is, but the first week's worth of CMH-SFO (inaugural is tomorrow) is showing everything from a 319 to a 739. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/ua1585 Useless trivia is that the first flight will be run on one of the ex-China Southern A320s. FWIW, looking through ...

Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

I'm still not sure 97PDEW is enough to support daily service. WN 737's seat 143 and NK's A320's 185. But I remain positive that demand begets demand. There obviously was already a market for MSY, otherwise two carriers wouldn't have started service. And the hope is with new service existing, it fur...

They ran a good handful of routes out of CMH. I hitched a ride a couple times myself, as recently as mid-February, CMH-HOU.

Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

From today’s Enilria OAG thread: AA CMH-MIA MAY 3>4[3] JUN 3>4[3] AA’s recent growth continues. Unfortunately, a dummy booking in June shows the fourth frequency also scheduled as an Envoy ERJ-145. I know the MIA flight is all about connections so frequency matters, but that’s a long couple of hour...

February CRAA Board Meeting agenda is out. Highlights from January: Impressive 9.6% YOY growth, everyone up on pax numbers except AC (down slightly) and F9 (way down). Of course, it’s still too soon for NK YOY numbers. At first glance, other than the entrance of NK, it appears growth was driven lar...

Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

Honestly if Southwest had a premium cabin I would fly them 90% of the time. I would too, especially since I am not very happy with United's presence in CMH. United doesn’t seem to like mid-major airports in general. Most airports of CMH’s size seem to be either LCC quick-in/out focus cities and/or ...

Re: The Rest of Ohio - 2019

I think CMH is getting to the point where it's pretty well served, considering the successes of 2018 additions. So in 2019, I'd be very happy seeing appropriate upgauging (specifically UA). Some mainline to NYC would be nice as well as a seasonal to SAN. Hoping that's both not too much to ask and re...
