Current Concourse D might be used for charter flights for the next Super Bowl and other events of that magnitude. Not much else is planned for that building in terms of flight ops. MSY saw its final S80 departure tonight. N984TW did the honors. Flight 2257. I heard it was quite a celebration - a big cake shaped like a cassette, 80s music, balloons, etc.Jump to post
NK has been quietly building up MSY to over 20 nonstop destinations. Just wondering if you think they could make a route like MSY-SAP work (just basing that on the fact that it was flown previously), say 3X weekly? They could even have some connecting feed based on the flight times. Any thoughts on ...Jump to post

No Cafe Du Monde, it’s just a generic place called West Beignet.
Ugh, was confusing it with AcmeOH... always do that. Mea Culpa.
No more Acme, either.
The old Acme is now the horrible rendition of Dolly Chase.
Sure, though nothing really novel about that, seeing as Cafe du Monde has been inside the current airport terminal for decades. No Cafe Du Monde, it’s just a generic place called West Beignet. MSY up 9.31%, outpacing many larger metro areas. Always nice to see.Jump to post

What makes you say that? Another major issue?
This can only help out inbound air travel... Royal Caribbean to sail year-round from NOLA for the first time ever starting in January, 2020.

A will have to also be used for at least early morning originators. There simply aren’t enough hard stands available for all the overnight aircraft without parking some on A. That's what I figured as well. Does MSY even have an int'l arrival before 3pm or so? Not counting the Vacation Express chart...Jump to post
LAX-MSY goes back to 2X daily in September. It’s Saturday-only through late August then it goes back to daily. Was cut down over the summer due to the fleet shuffling over the MAX.
MSY-PHX is long overdue.

The problem with Delta is that they are ignoring the most important opinions in the world - that of a.net posters. Obviously Delta's decision making is horribly deficient. If you or someone you know has or currently works at the airport - beware of people lurking on this thread looking for comments regarding the MSY leadership team. If it’s not a positive comment, they are out to get you. Consider this a public service advisory.Jump to post
AA is trying to be both Emirates and Spirit at the same time. Not a good proposition. Also, the combined airline is probably just too large for the current management team to effectively manage. They could handle a USAirways-sized airline. In over their heads with the combined carrier. The pot needs...Jump to post
Has anyone flown with these guys before? They’ll be operating one of my upcoming flights out of BCN up to OSL. I see the 767 fleet is in a 2x4x2 configuration. It looks like some of the aircraft have a newer interior featuring PTVs and a modern premium cabin, but are any still operated in the old no...Jump to post
I was referring to Bagneris (couldn't believe when I saw his name pop up...), but make no mistake, Dolliole is in the same circles, with the Morial (Marc, in this instance) political crowd. I just don't this this changing much since there are too many favors to be had, too many pockets to be lined, ...Jump to post
The Aviation Board director needs to be fired. Just another New Orleans political hack. And that’s not just my opinion.
It’ll be a great thing for the city and region when this opens, but it’s been a botched delivery with poor communication from the airport to the tenants.
AA is a disaster. Day in and day out, major operational issues. Yet they have time to continue to demoralize employees if they let the airplane push out of the gate 11 minutes early as opposed to 10 (buddy of mine there told me about this).Jump to post
Seasonal 2X weekly 737-800 YUL-MSY starting in November and running through at least the end of March. Personally I’m surprised AC didn’t jump on this, though it has me wondering if they’ll respond like they did in 2010 when WS announced YYZ-MSY? AC announced the resumption of service just days afte...Jump to post
Former QF/BA 763’s in a typical 2-class config. I walked on one last summer and iirc it was something like 24 up front and over 230 in coach. Small monitors located throughout the cabin for video entertainment. Old style overhead bins.
There’s been one stuck in MSY for weeks with an engine problem.
AA cutting back LAX quite a bit this Summer. B6 is also cutting back FLL a good bit throughout the fall. Last fall, they were still daily. I’m surprised B6 is still even in the market, to be honest. The flights are rarely full (usually around 75% from what I see) and the yields have to be terrible ...Jump to post
The airport already moved two jetways off of C which is really making ops difficult for several airlines on that concourse. Plus they've removed one from D. I can't imagine they'd do that knowing it's not opening until August unless something major in the past week has came to light.Jump to post
2021? Nothing like giving the competition even more time to up their game and make it even more difficult for B6.Jump to post
Just received confirmation that the opening of the terminal is now officially delayed until August 7th. Haven’t gotten an official reason yet but I can’t say that I’m surprised. Call me a pessimist but I just don’t see Silver flying anything other than something like MSY-JAX or MSY-RSW - routes to larger cities/areas where they can build up the volume needed to support the ATRs. TPA would have been an ideal route before NK started it. Not sure they’d want to get into that m...Jump to post
