If one pax makes a decision to do something, the rest shall follow. It could be a case of pax thinking something has been said officially to the pax sitting next to the emergency exits. I can see how this has happened. This has NOTHING to do with the type of pax who would travel a certain airline.

If you drive, I'd suggest go to the village of Stansted Mountfitchet, where you can park and get access to a grassed area, beside the airport perimeter fence. You get a great view directly in front of the runway.

I spot fairly regularly at Myrtle Avenue. I will probably be there the same time as you at some point. I would be more than happy to show you around a couple of spotting areas near by.

The 285 bus is free and will take you from the hotel to Hatton Cross, then a 5 min walk to Myrtle.

Easyjet took over GB in 2008, the year the recession started to hit Europe. With passenger numbers now increasing, it makes sense that there could be potential for the need for extra seats, hence the A321 could suit.

I personally think the 747-8 is a beautiful aircraft. Unfortunately, it seems there is not much call for large long haul aircraft anymore, due to the economical environment we are in.

For 27L arrivals Myrtle Avenue is the best, easily accessible on the free 285 bus from the Central Bus Station to Hatton Cross. You can of course get the tube also. Happy spotting, although the weather isn't too great at the moment.
