If one pax makes a decision to do something, the rest shall follow. It could be a case of pax thinking something has been said officially to the pax sitting next to the emergency exits. I can see how this has happened. This has NOTHING to do with the type of pax who would travel a certain airline.

If you drive, I'd suggest go to the village of Stansted Mountfitchet, where you can park and get access to a grassed area, beside the airport perimeter fence. You get a great view directly in front of the runway.

I spot fairly regularly at Myrtle Avenue. I will probably be there the same time as you at some point. I would be more than happy to show you around a couple of spotting areas near by.

The 285 bus is free and will take you from the hotel to Hatton Cross, then a 5 min walk to Myrtle.
