What do you call this configuration on the 4 777-200ERs if not domestic?
Recently (past year or so), UA crew members on layover have been robbed/accosted OR WORSE in Brazil, Columbia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico and Panama.
Jump to postIt's not up to United to say, as the decision to certify is not theirs. That's up to the FAA and Boeing. United has addressed this internally and has confirmed these cuts are directly related to the 777PWs.[/quote] In as much as United has previously decided to build their aircraft schedule to inclu...
Jump to postLots of cuts for June - must be related to further delays returning the PW 777s, resulting is scrambling to cover the schedule. Gone as far as I can tell, there are probably more: EWR-HNL EWR-OGG IAD-HNL IAD-GRU IAD-GVA IAD-DUB At some point wouldn't it be nice if UA actually said what is happening ...
Jump to postI would say in the short term (next few years) it is highly unlikely that UA will recruit for UK (LHR) based crew. -UA closed their FRA, HKG and NRT bases due to the COVID devastation on the flight schedules to those destinations. This resulted in the separation of hundreds of UA flight attendants w...
Jump to postI understand gate F15 in Terminal 3 (formerly gate 84 for those who remembered the old gate number scheme) is being modified to once again be a mainline, wide-body capable gate. For several years this gate has been used for up to 4 simultaneous UAX operations. Now that UA is pushing into Terminal 2 ...
Jump to postI am not sure of the exact date of the opening of the connector between T2 and T3, but it appears to be imminent. Have seen communications indicating UA will begin official operation out of 2 gates in T2 on November 19. Of note, also have seen UAX/Skywest aircraft RON-ing at T2 frequently the past f...
Jump to postThere seems to be some level of denial of how bad the WN operation has been the last few years. Between the Max grounding, other misc groundings, meltdowns etc, my A-list household is fed up with the unreliability.
It's time for a re-boot of WN to focus on consistency and on-time flights.
I’m bummed that there weren’t more SFO - Europe resumptions, but I get that those tend be longer, thinner, and more business oriented. Particularly DUB which was announced, but I don’t believe ever launched. SFO to DUB and AMS is for sale effective 26 March; SFO to ZRH is for sale effective 6 May. ...
Jump to postslight problem with your AC move idea to terminal 2. There is no more gate room, AS and DN took it all. Assume you mean DL and not DN. DL's gate usage in T2 is temporary while their concourse gets its facelift Thanks for the correction, it was DL. And when DL moves out it will just all be taken ove...

Jump to postI see today's UA305 (ORD-SFO) is departing from T5 (Gate M8). Both Flightradar24 and United.com are showing it so it's not an error. The aircraft is a 77W. Jump to postI was just looking at some of the Hawaii routes for this summer and noticed non-stop OGG to EWR and ORD. Just noticed AA 254 (12 Dec) departed OGG for LAX but after quite some time airborne diverted to HNL. Eventually it departed HNL for LAX but once again turned around and just recently landed back at HNL.
Now showing a 1000 departure out of HNL on the 13th.
Anyone got the lowdown?
At about :19 there are seven paper airplanes, thus seven new routes.
Next someone is looking up a city on their phone that starts with a 'B'. Sure seems like SFO-BKK is possible.
Maps of Africa are also vividly on display so certainly somewhere on that continent is forthcoming.

Jump to postHotel expense is a major consideration in determining where an airline bases crew and was usually, but not always, the driving factor at UA. In this regard, NRT never made sense as the hotels in NRT have traditionally been quite inexpensive relative to most of the US destinations served out of NRT. ...

Jump to postCan any United employees from the 1980s help me? The very last United DC-8 economy cabin was grey seats with orange and red squares and the 747sp's some of the DC-10's had this as well. Jump to postThe 777 is incredibly solid and has an impeccable safety record. Jump to postThe galley service crews just hated them, as they always got stuck in place - or conversely wouldn't lock to be secured for takeoff. Jump to postAll United 727s as well as the DC8 fleet had a palletized galley system. This was designed way back in the DC8 days to allow for quick change outs of the galleys.
