Re: Boston aviation - 2018

As has been mentioned a few times before (even by BA pilots), maneuvering the A380 at BOS is tricky, especially at the E9-12 area. I was on a BA A380 flight in early May 2017, and after pushback we waited for about 55 minutes before taxiing. The captain explained that the new A380 gates are positio...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN) - 2018

PWM always was a seasonal station from the first day B6 arrived. I also don’t see any equivalencies between Frontier coming and B6 going. They’re two separate things. I do agree, though, with the sentiment that this lessens the likelihood of MHT for B6. The focus ought to be on convincing AA to pick...

Yeah, all very good points. The BA A380 driver on Twitter says as much about Boston. One does get the sense, though, that the ME airlines are showing renewed vigor at BOS (including El Al). But flying in the face of that is the Dubai runway project and what EK will do to balance things out.

Only anecdotal, but these are the 777-300ER's that QR uses to Montreal: A7-BEF, BAL, BAS, BAT, BAV, BAW, BAX, BAY, BAZ.

All are 412-seat planes except for BEF, which is a 358-seat version.

At JFK they use a smaller-capacity 77W, but they've also got 2x daily whereas YUL has only got the one.

Sitting around while other airlines give it a go TATL is a double-edged sword. The first-movers show you where the failures are. But they also show you where the successes are. A WN plane that lands at MHT is stopped at the gate 60 seconds after it touches down. It’s 6 times that at BOS. Going the other way, that 737 has the runway to itselfat MHT whereas it’s in a long conga line at BOS. That’s fuel. Wasted.
