Although BA sent the 77W to Boston many times, I don't think the official timetables reflected that. The planes just seemed to show up ad-hoc, without the schedules indicating so,

UA must figure it will take next to nothing to drive Frontier off. After all, Frontier is a very fickle airline that doesn't hesitate a minute when ditching a route.

I’ve got a couple trips coming up and I’ve never been to either place: Kyoto (Osaka) and Shanghai. I know I can get to Shanghai on Hainan nonstop, and Probably BOS-NARITA-OSAKA on JAL. But are there any other cool routings I might look into?

The thing about Frontier, at least in my view, is that they aren't reluctant to ditch routes that 'underperform.' The worst case scenario is that Frontier does as people fear...they push JetBlue out. Then, they leave themselves.

It's a sad day when Ryanair has a more recognisable and arguably better livery than Aer Lingus. I guess B6 3x daily BOS-DTW service start on the same day was a coincidence. So, why was it cut from 2x daily to one and why is this only a seasonal upgrade. EK carries only 19% of US-India traffic. They make it look like 110%. Fact is BOS is far better for connecting passengers. No one is looking ...

It will be interesting to see whether EK has ‘bargain pricing’ on BOS-DXB once they start moving more seats though here. It bodes well for the route if they don’t need to resort to that.

Since BOS will begin seeing the EK A380 starting this summer, I think spotters would like to have a list of those planes having special paint schemes...the animals, Expo 2020, etc. Is there one?

Boston is a global hub for life sciences and education. While only the affluent in India and Africa might be able to afford to travel internationally, they would have a reason to come to Boston. And plenty of business travellers of U.S. origin have reasons to travel to those places. EK doesn't fly ...

It appears that BA will bring the 787 back along with the A380. On selected days and selected flights, the 787 handles either of the last two outbounds. The morning is always a 777, the first evening one is the A380, and the second two evening ones bounce between 777/787.

You really can't get to Reno from Raleigh using Frontier unless you put up with a stop in Denver, so maybe Boston-Reno will be non-stop.

Also, the BOS-RDU service is 4x weekly and only one flight each of those days (I think). Facing stiff competition from DL & B6, this will be interesting to watch because Frontier is never reluctant to pull the plug quickly on underperforming routes.

I get the sense that ‘back-door-politics’ goes on in the airline industry. One could say that DL and B6 are in Worcester to curry favor with Massport. But over at LHR, would BA put the screws to B6, using their clout to make things ‘inconvenient’ for them in terms of timings and gates?

My turn. MHT 2019 perditions/wishlist. WN- DEN,FLL AA- larger equipment to ORD, LGA DL- more frequencies to LGA UA- ORD,EWR resuming Long shot B6 NK F9 to MCO,FLL I can't imagine UA making themselves look foolish by returning to a route they abandoned. I do like the thought of AA E-190s to ORD, but...

I could be way wrong, but I don't think the EK 787-10 can go all the way to Boston. It's more meant for shorter, high-density flights which is why BA will use it BOS-LHR.

You have to walk before you can run, and toward that end, MHT would be well served to simply PLATEAU in 2019 and show small growth in 2020. If AA to ORD started right away, I might envision some growth...but because they aren't, their numbers in 2019 probably won't surpass what UA did in 2018. The n...

Just got in BKK flying EK. First time in J. Service was excellent, limousine pick up a nice touch. Looked I got the new J seat. I’ve been on the BA239 (ATC calls it 29Golf) from Boston to London three times...twice on a 777 and once on a 789. None of the flights were full (admittedly in the winter all three times) and I don’t know how 238/239 typically does for loads. But it’s been a BOS mainstay for many years so it must do...

This is a nice thread, full of useful information and nary a bit of bickering. I'm near MHT, so I've not paid much attention to it since Amazon's planes don't fly here.
