Something going on with Mesa E175SC fleet. No aircraft schedule tomorrow - 2 in IAD and 18 in IAH. I know they were going to send some Mesa E175s to the desert for storage but that amount I do not know. Crazy that a 2021 airframe is headed to Kingman. Mesa's CEO is going to testify to a subcommitte...Jump to post
Glad I got to see her at MSP in 2014. Thanks for the memory Antonov. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgDN8rxmRy0 I won't get my hopes up, but with Ukraine tweeting about rebuilding the An-225 there's at least a small glimmer of hope that there will either be a rebuild and/or an An-225 2.0 gracing t...Jump to post
I work St. Petersburg Radio, so this should be a very interesting litmus test of how many folks fly their own plane there.
Having formerly worked Green Bay, I await to see how busy this is compared to Oshkosh.

Well, that's a good chunk of the fleet! Wonder how long it will be before they get the PW jets back up in the air?
Great picture of shaming displaying your much loved DMs.! I have a few pairs of Docs too; well known for their anti- establishment statement! Liked your detailed report very much. Thanks for posting it. Yes, it’s always sad when a great aircraft reaches the end of its life. There’s very little vari...Jump to post
ryanov wrote:Delta did have black PSUs. I have an old photo from the early 2000s. I believe they swapped them to white in the ~2012 refit.
There's a lot of history here, not the least of which was some maneuvering years ago that put ATA/World/NorthAmerican out of business.
Wonderful report! Wondering what UAL is like these days-contemplating XMas home from IAD. Love the 2nd climbout shot from IAD, you got my apartment! Nice. All my flights on UA were good, I have another flight booked on them through IAD, at the end of next month. That's awesome that I got your apart...Jump to post
Random thought, for the pilots from the md aircraft I'm sure some retired, where did they upgrade too? The folks who operated my jet (N978DL) went on to the 737, but they have to wait for classes, so who knows what has been going on since June for them. Probably a lot of different possibilities, th...Jump to post
quote="rampbro"]A poignant, well written report. Thank you KLASM83. Very brave of you to assume that lav was dumped though.....[/quote] Many thanks for reading this report, even a few months after! Usually, TRs die after a few months here, so I appreciate you taking the time to read and co...Jump to post
I am for anything MD-88 related! Great TR, I sure miss them.Jump to post
Thanks for the trip report, I really enjoyed it. So many memories of these birds. Very nostalgic for me. Many thanks! I'm, what, 31, and I'm getting nostalgic, too lol But, I am a sentimental fool. Supremely well written trip report, wow, wow! I appreciate a report with thoughts going through artic...Jump to post
You don't see many 748 reports, and I appreciate that! Many thanks! I like how they adopted parts from the 787 cabin for this plane. Lovely pictures as always!Jump to post
Awesome trip report and pictures! I definitely wouldn't have expected them to let a crowd of people head down onto the ramp - what an awesome experience that must've been! Thank you! I was quite surprised to hear that, too, but I'm not one to pass up a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity like that! The ...Jump to post
Very few things are constant in this world, but SFO fog always is! Cool TR as always!Jump to post
I really enjoyed reading through this report. Good Job!! End to an era that I can't believe is happening. Many thanks! Had to catch the last day! Love the emotional connection and level of detail in your report. WIth MDs being rare in Australia, I've never had the chance to fly on them, but can und...Jump to post
Background- Our love is an old love In these tough times, we often cling to things that remind us of ourselves. Cars we’ve driven. Baubles that decorate our houses. Books on our shelves. For me, it’s the MD-80 series, a plane that, for many of you reading this, has interwoven itself deep into my li...Jump to post
Was on the final group of flights, DAL742 RIC-ATL. Got to step inside the last MD90, and Delta graciously let us on the ramp for a pictures all around N900DE. I'll be making a trip report soon.
It was a bettersweet day, but a nice distraction from the ugliness of the world.
I'm booked on DL80. Hope to see some fellow 88 fans onboard. If the flight sold out in less than a day, almost a month ahead of time, in the middle of a global pandemic, I'm guessing most if not all pax are MD-88 fans. I'm booked in 23A on DL80 but I wouldn't be opposed to trading someone f...Jump to post
Haha, that's pretty funny! I bet she's grounded now because of COVID... Ship 744S seems to be still plying the skies , getting ready to make a TYS-ORD run at the time of writing. Random observation seems that the RJs are still going. That is interesting. I heard that DL are also mostly flying their...Jump to post
I largely regard ship 744 as my stalker jet, as somehow it always found a way into my life, from when I ramped and nonreved, to MSFS, and even now lol Haha, that's pretty funny! Neat TR! Good quality. This became very topical with Delta's newest announcement.Jump to post
So weird to see the new gates at ASE. When I used to work there (and when 760S was UAX), it was a power-in, power out station-no pushback!
Great to see the TR and I do miss that airport.
Man, I want pizza now. Great TR, like the variety of airlines (like there are so many in the US anymore).Jump to post
Amazing flying by these pilots, those engines sounded quite moribund based on watching the video.Jump to post

Wouldn't that require a redesign by the manufacture?
Very nice! I flew a lot with TWA domestically, so it's nice to see what the international service was like. Thank you for this trip report.Jump to post
I really want to fly Turkish now, thank you for the TR!Jump to post
Wonderful report! Neat that there are those slim European cars being pulled by those square, burly F40PHs!Jump to post
Most importantly, condolences to those who died.
It's a rough few weeks for aviation. I shall eagerly as the cause is investigated.
Runway conditions 3/3/3 Great point! Marginal, at best. The full NOTAM also indicates 1/4 inch dry snow, so that is something to think on as well. Me thinks N14171 is probably done. Unless it isn't. We shall see what the insurance says. For the pedantic folk like me: 03/028 - RWY 01 FICON 3/3/3 100...Jump to post
Man, it's been a long time since we we've had a commercial, domestic air crash with fatalities, and it's sad we ended that streak today. Many condolences to the families and friends. At least its not a passenger flight Does it matter what type of flight it was? Lives were lost. A death is a death i...Jump to post
