Last year I did GRU-ZRH-SIN-AKL (LX + SQ)
Why fly the easiest route?
Another one I would like to try is GRU-JNB-SYD (LA + QF)
With the current air traffic situation this feels quite impossible.
Another repatriation flight
SAS will fly its A350 to Brazil tomorrow April 9th
Another day with some unusual Latam flights:
- JJ9454 GRU-LAX B77W (PT-MUE)
- LA1102 GRU-LAX B789 (CC-BGK)
- LA1130 GRU-LAX B788 (CC-BBI)
Does anyone know why 3 flights to LAX? It's the second day this is happening.
Yesterday 3 Latam flights departed out of GRU to LAX. It must be related to the COVID-19 situation.
- LA1132 - GRU-LAX - B788 (CC-BBE)
- JJ9452 - GRU-LAX - B777 (PT-MUG)
- LA1006 - GRU-LAX - B788 (CC-BBF)
Embraer did a video about Santa Helena airport back in 2017
I'm currently at SLC where I manage to get SkyPriority and lounge access due to being a Gol FF. Today I think me and all the Latam FF got a corporate Latam e-mail signed by Jerome Cadier which basically state: - a codeshare agreement has been signed today between Latam Peru, Colombia and Ecuador. Ch...Jump to post
I wonder how that 5 Star Airline by Skytrax is doing lolJump to post
Also with due respect, you have to take out this mentality that these countries are only GRU, LIM, SCL, EZE. The way you wrote makes you picture that these flights are only occupied by tourists, which portrays and shallow and rather popular vision of Latin America. Other than that someone just poste...Jump to post
A quick glimpse of maybe why Delta wants Latam (and what AA has lost) Latam Destinations in South America minus Brazil https://s.latamstatic.com/en_au/about-us/map-of-destinations/america/_jcr_content/content/imagenparacontenidof/imageComponent.asset.spool/Vamos_Mapa_Sudamerica.jpg Latam Destination...Jump to post
I dunno if any Latin American country offers DOMESTIC business class seats. Latam does not. Azul also does not offer it Sky is the same. I wonder if Avianca and Copa do it in their domestic routes... so there is no point in bashing AA for something that their latin american counterpart have never of...Jump to post
They obviously never saw this Delta-GOL video back in 2016 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyCIMJw0I-o Great video! Thanks for sharing. Having flown GOL 4 times throughout the DL/GOL partnership, I can honestly say that all of my experiences with them were very positive and I will miss them. I wish...Jump to post
As of right now Latam still have agreements with Lufthansa and Swiss. Up until last year, they had agreements with Turkish and South African Airways, if I am not mistaken. I think Latam won't join an alliance since it will be able to maintain this kind of partnership and others. Much to what happen...Jump to post
LATAM had as partners, AA (the largest carrier from US to South America), IB (the largest carrier from Europe to South America), QF (the most logical partner in Oceania?), effectively giving it the best traffic flows to all their relevant markets; plus an entire oneworld customer base (being the so...Jump to post
Funny how all of a sudden Alitalia is finding the US west coast where they should have flown for decades. Where are they getting the 777 ? They recently launched Santiago, Chile and Mexico City. Good Luck to Alitalia, they need all the divine intervention they can get. If I am not mistaken they are...Jump to post
This configuration is excellent imo.
I've flown in the 789 (JAL) and 748 (KE) and it is private, spacious and you can sleep like a real bed.
I thought the "Vuelization" of BA was seen as good by the investors. But the customers... Alex Cruz was promoted to BA's CEO to "Vuelinizate" it. So he made what he was supposed to. Probably there is nothing left to make BA more low-cost :D. Unless they plan to start selling Scr...Jump to post
This past few weeks have been chaotic at JFK / LGA area. Mostly due to storms. I was supposed to fly BOS-JFK-GRU this past Monday (19th). Got on the plane at BOS and waited around 2.5 hours in the tarmac so that JFK could open again and we could fly. Right at that moment I noticed that the Delta ap...Jump to post

Ever since TAM went to OW, Star Alliance has lost all its grip in Brazil. Gol is taking the opportunity to be "in the middle". Kinda like Alaska Air. Closer to DL / AF / KL, while maintaining partnership with the likes of CM / EY / EK / KE / AC / SA / QR and recently ET and AT. Azul has ti...Jump to post
"It’s the horrible inequity is the true crime." okay, you don't know my homecountry gringo. Inequity have been going on a low for many years between 2006 and 2013, and still the crime rate went way up. Let's go back to talk about aviation. I'm sorry but have you ever read statistics about...Jump to post
Yes, definitely. I've heard rumors that João Pessoa (JPA) and Maceió (MCZ) are in the pipeline. And I would guess that São Luís (SLZ) would be likely too. If they couldn’t make Manaus and Campinas work, I really can’t see how they could make Joao Pessoa, which is only 120km from Recife and can bare...Jump to post
Both Argentina and Brazil are not doing good, but as we can see the hermanos are the ones which must be suffering the most. Brazil still manages to see the return of MUC-GRU with LH in the A350, new YUL-GRU with AC 789 and LON-GRU with VS, which are rather unexpected imo. Latam still have not said a...Jump to post
Great flight report! I love all the details!
I've had my share of JAL Asia - USA flights. This inaugaural flight was awesome nonetheless.
I prefer the more laid back feeling of Cathay Pacific.
This week Cathay Pacific and Latam have done another codeshare agreements in the GRU-JNB-HKG route, (besides GRU-LHR-HKG)Jump to post
But aren't those mainly Nisei or Sansei immigrants? i.e. ethnic Japanese youth that left Brazil for Japan, only to go back to Brazil? Nope, they are really japanese citizens, born and raised in Japan. Some with brazilians relatives, some with none . That's why I find it funny the assertion that jap...Jump to post
You would be amazed by the amount of young japanese people that come to Brazil. Either alone or because he/she has a relative that lives in Brazil. Most of them take a year or two off to come teach "nihongo" in かいかん or "kaikan" (japanese club) scattered throughout the brazilian s...Jump to post
So no capable Rouge plane to fly YVR-SCL. Competition with US airlines. Chileans don't need visa to the USA. Other than that, are the ties between Chile and Asia strong? If so, which countries? Brazil will lift visa for americans, canadians, japanese, australians. Let's see if this will increase tou...Jump to post
They could, but I dunno. The news of YUL-GRU by AC was definitely a surprise.
Maybe starting with Rouge?
You also have to think that chileans have Qantas and Latam going go Oceania. Maybe some pax connect in Australia / New Zealand with final destination in Asia?
I think I heard in the news last year that an American Airlines plane had drugs stashed in the nose that whent to Colombia. Wait.. here it is: https://edition.cnn.com/2017/01/31/us/aa-plane-cocaine/index.html Claiming that drugs are one reason for an existing comercial flight is an utterly display o...Jump to post
I think Asia, Australia and even Africa I'd say. TK and ET are also in the mix of airlines that take S. American pax to the other side of the world.Jump to post
In one of the extremes of the airpot there is a supermarket, lol.
Avianca also have a webcam in their B788 and some new A330 with the 1-2-1 config.Jump to post
Once flying TAP from LIS to GRU. I was flying economy and sitting at the aisle. An european gentleman also in the aisle decided to take off his boots and suddenly I felt like the walls were melting. I felt like we had crashed. I felt like I was dying thru my nose. Me and the people around it. The pa...Jump to post
If only South Africa would grant CZ the possibility of CAN-CPT-GRU/GIG, or CAN-JNB-GRU/GIG/EZE.
It would be a rather interesting route, for sure.
Oh deer, lol
I like it: )
