I guess what I am asking is why AA5868 chose to divert 45 minutes back to DFW, while WN4883 and AA5979 continued to LBB at essentially the same time last night?

Re: Dallas/Fort Worth Aviation Thread (DFW/DAL) - 2019

so in last night's storms, AA5868 (DFW-LBB) and WN4883 (DEN-LBB) both held east of Lubbock for conditions to improve at LBB. WN4883 and AA5979 (DFW-LBB), which did not hold, eventually landed at LBB. AA5868 returned to DFW. does anyone know why? https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/JNP4-DIn1fojZVqE8xYP...

The only thing TOGA is going to buy you is stopping margin and perhaps some fourth segment climb. That said, stopping margin is valuable if you need it. Re: A320 Family TOGA Thrust Rarity

At one airline (non-Airbus) pilots would only do TOGA takeoffs due to stalled contract negotiations. The bean counters probably lost more money doing more frequent engine changes than if they’d just continued negotiating. Wow that’s interesting. How many TOGA takeoffs would it take to impact engine...

I saw video this morning of Sec of State Tillerson's arrival in Moscow in what looks like a C-40B. He was in Italy for a G7 foreign ministers' meeting before this.

Question: Why not use the C-32? Wouldn't the C-40B have to refuel in flight between ADW and Italy?
