Such a shame, the Chinese politics never made this viable for CZ.
Still, glad I managed to fly on a CZ A380, even if it was domestically.

So realistically, you are left with British or JAL because Etihad seems reluctant to take theirs, - I expect EY to take the rest in due course with the 77W’s & 380’s being fully retired No. These have significant, unsupported assumptions that (1) it must be an existing A350-1000 customer and (2...Jump to post
Any new orders or any news of potential orders ? It seems to have all gone quiet on the E2 front, are they struggling to find buyers? I saw a Luxair E190 the other day and thought how the E2 would be a perfect jet for an airline like them - Luxair, they don’t operate E190’s? - unless it’s a sublease?Jump to post
I expect most if not all will end up with Vueling. Thankfully they won’t work for BA @ LHR without significant costly infrastructure changes, I don’t see that happening. They could put some @ LGW with BA, but they ramp up the summer and move aircraft from LHR, so that won’t work well operational. Do...Jump to post

Any info on why? My guess would be the (short haul) issues at BA today, short of any further information.
I know the A380 has been the topic of intense discussion, however, this event happened very suddenly and I would like the input of the members here. Sunday, December 5: My husband and I purchase plane tickets to go to London in September of 2022. Outbound, we were planning on flying LAX-LHR on an A...Jump to post
Sorry to disappoint y'all. That photo is fake. The only Envoy 170 that has gone to paint so far has been N761RW, and it's not in heritage paint. are you sure? N760mq and N762dt are in macon which has paint. N761rw is in abeline and i havent seen abeline airport paint planes. Are these brand new reg...Jump to post
In terms of slots post March 2022, should not be an issue, Heathrow’s forecasts up to 2025 don’t have traffic numbers anywhere near 2019 There is no direct correlation between slots and passenger numbers. LHR has been slot restricted for years and yet passenger number kept going up because airlines...Jump to post

As Woody mentioned above, Blue Air has taken delivery of YR-MXA and flew away today.
Neos has taken delivery of 2 aircraft. EI-RZA/RZB
Still plenty of young 77W’s that are years off replacement, the ones at Saudi are a perfect example, plenty there to replace when the time comes.
I’m sure the 779 will pick up more orders as time ticks on, just don’t see it selling as well as the 77W did.
With the 2021 traffic predictions, not sure T3 will need to be re-opened.Jump to post
Traffic numbers are going to be soft for years, Frequencies will be much reduced so lots of spare slots, it makes sense to consolidate short haul traffic @ LHR.
There is little connecting traffic on the BA LGW beach fleet so no real need to maintain LGW short haul to be brutally honest.
The problem with transatlantic LCC's is that outside of the summer all the legacy carriers essentially dump economy seats into each others hubs at laughably low prices to fill seats which is made viable by the high and stable business class fares. There is money to be made undercutting in the summe...Jump to post
The only way I see a 777 coming back into service is if SYD gets the green light in the next couple of months. It's loaded for August right now, but I wouldn't hold my breath that it operates. There's enough A330s, A350s and 767s out there to take care of any international flying right now. Delta a...Jump to post

I think P&W re-entering the current WB market is highly unlikely, their previous WB engine track record was hardly stellar....
RR’s offering on the 787 has had pretty substantial issues, GE have had issues with the new 777-9 engine, who would risk a punt on P&W?

BA longhaul @ MAN ‘might’ work with A321-200XLR but is it really worth the effort & investment? - I doubt it.
MAN itself is a terrible airport, surly staff, terrible security screening process, cramped terminal layout, at least T3, its an awful passenger experience.
I'm waiting for CX to suspend SEA because of their reductions, since it's the newest US destination. SEA & IAD are the two I think most at risk. I've ready many times that IAD has struggled. Now with SQ in SEA I just can't see how CX makes SEA work when DL couldn't. - Quite a few A350-1000 oper...Jump to post
I fly now with the "old" config 777-200 between LHR and BKK and it has the 9 seat abreast in economy. Maybe not the newest plane but much more comfortable then the new config with 10 abreast and bloody uncomfortable seats in economy. I hope that they keep the old config as long as possibl...Jump to post
I’d be interested in knowing where all the MAX Operators have stored their MAX’s, of the top of my head, below is a few places I know of which have some stores. - Southwest, VCV - FlyDubai, DWC - Thomson, MAN + Others - Icelandair, currently at KEF but being ferried to TLS - Norwegian, scattered th...Jump to post
Thanks Carfield, nice read & pictures as always.
Totally agree with the amenities comment, PJ’s should be served, especially on the SIN/EWR vv route, that’s a long flight - which I did enjoy, but found the catering odd.
Great report & pictures, thanks for sharing.
Mint does look a good product, must try it!
Airlines send their best aircraft on their most valuable routes. A350-1000, or any airbus wide-body for that matter, is not good enough for premium routes - What a daft thing to say, obviously a Boeing fan boy..... I would say the width of A350-1000 is not enough for a 1-2-1 F layout. F passengers e...Jump to post
