Mine was delta and song. Even though i worked for airtran in TPA. I used to get laughed at by my co workers because i was always talking about song and delta. I was fortunate that i got a station agreement to fly songs last flight out of TPA. Though DL ended our station agreement for non rev. My sup...Jump to post
Is it my imagination or did Airtran try serving some smaller cities with CRJ-200's at one point? ZW and OO operated them for them, but they weren't really that small of cities In TPA we had the CRJ mostly intra-Florida flying. Didnt last that long. By the time we moved into airside A the crjs were ...Jump to post
I was told many years ago by a member of the executive suite at JetBlue that TPA was their worst performing Florida city. Since then smaller cities like SRQ and DAB have come aboard so TPA may no longer be worst. But 2 daily JFK TPA in January does say a lot I was thinking the same thing. When FL w...Jump to post
Well i think u answered your own question with VIE being saturated with LCC service. OS flies to a lot of the major cities here, there probably isnt a lot of demand for 2 carriers to serve the route. Do we k ow what the Load factors are on the routes? Im guessing low 70% range. If its that low for o...Jump to post
I wonder how long G4 will keep the AVL-DEN route seems like such an odd city pair to me Just announced that it will be seasonally resumed early next year, in February. Must have done reasonably well. This is probably a result of a lot of people from the Northeast retiring to this region of NC who m...Jump to post

Now if they could only get one of those down I-4 to TPA, without it being a diversion...*sigh* I agree. VS 747 G_VFAB "lady Penelope" and i have a live hate relationship. She used ti be a regular on the ramp during diversions to TPA plus she alsways seemed to take the Buccaneers to LGW. I...Jump to post
Edinburgh is a global tourism destination. Nobody in their right mind will go to Manchester on holidays. End of story. Totally agree. Manchester is horrible place. Edinburgh is my absolutely favourite place on the planet. Especially this time of year. I cant wait till next year as ill be playing th...Jump to post
Well they just expanded TPA, i dont see MIA. FL had service to MIA but couldnt rrally do anything to make it work, thats why most LCC use FLL. If im not mistaken MIA is expensive to operate in if your IATA code isnt AA, and the high cost of ops their doesnt work well with lcc business modelJump to post
Well with less than a month to go before service starts to TPA MCO and FLL, looks like NK is getting 875K. I thought it might take more then that to lure another airline here.

Here we go again. Simply put demand. The demand just isnt there. If it was there would be a non stop. Yes jax has a lot of people but most of it is really spread out and is basically in thr middle of nowhere. I have nothing against jax, i worked tdy several occasions up there in my FL days. Most pax...Jump to post
Chalk me up as to one who does not know who this no-name 'pop star' is. Never heard the name in my life. Pretty sure she shouldn't be treated any differently than anyone else. I totally agree. No you didn't. That would be the 737-700 my friend. Oh, and by the way everyone: This acquisition? NOT happening. We did indeed fly the baby boy to eyw, granted not an everyday occurance i have worked the flight as a gate agent and the plane was indeed a 712 I have to fact check you on that one. Air Tran never operated 717's on such short flights with quick turnarounds either. There's a reason HA bought 717's and no other planes to operate inter island hops. We flew tpa-eyw on the 717, with out avg 25 minute turn No you didn't. That would be the 737-700 my friend. Oh, and by the way everyo...Jump to post
And at any rate, if WN was acquiring HA, getting rid of the 717s makes no sense. Yet that's exactly what happened when they acquired AirTran. Although there are many other reasons why a WN/HA pairing will never ever happen. Air Tran never operated 717's on such short flights with quick turnarounds ...Jump to post
A new Virgin Atlantic route from TPA to either MAN or seasonally to GLA would make sense. I realize they already do this from MCO, but there is a large non-London UK population in the Bay Area so I think it would work. Is the demand enough to add a route so close to MCO, I'm not so sure but I think...Jump to post

Given this news of NK announcing AVL, I’m even more surprised that they still lack service to DC area on a legacy carrier or regular service to DFW. AA is now running seasonal, Saturday only service to AVL so maybe that will be escalated soon. Seems the ULCC are finding a real opportunity there tha...Jump to post

The Ryan Air type of Spirit airlines is slowly being pushed away for a More AirTran type model.

I will not admit to why I know jet engine exhaust is very effective at clearing alligators away from flightlines. Lightsaber Instant gator tosser! Im not sure if people express used the 747 at PIE
Everyone used airstairs before they built the 2 jet bridges.

In the air for 3 minutes.
LOL, does the gear even come up?
AVL is kind of in between GSP CLT and TYS. Its expensive ti fly in and out of. Im greatful G4 is there to kind of keep the US3 at bay. I sure do miss FL, and working the AVL flightback in Florida. I wish we could get either B6 or F9 in here, and at least make the airport a busier place than it is. ...Jump to post
