Shipments could go by rail or truck to Halifax which is a year round ice free port. And then by boat from Halifax to Mobile. Or even much closer still ship to Boston and go by boat from there. Montreal - Boston isn't that far.

Interesting how these operational issues only seem to affect the 1100G (so far). While Bombardier have seen production issues on the 1500G, I haven't heard much about any in flight issues with the 1500G yet.

I do wonder with Delta picking up 20 E190's rumoured to be from Air Canada, if that opens up Air Canada to place a C Series order. Though Air Canada will still have 25 E190's in the fleet. Air Canada ordered the 737-8 and 737-9 Max but no 737-7. Almost seems like the perfect gap for the C Series.

With Air Canada rumoured to be looking at more A330's and 767's for interim lift I wonder if they would consider bumping up some of their 787 orders?
