[ Like you, I am trying to sit here and figure out how this system even came into being let alone got certified. . Given this sentiment about this system is being echoed my quite a few on the av boards right now, this brings a follow up issue. Because it already would be concerning enough that an a...

Re: Can IAD cut it for a UA SE Hub?

IAD would make a fantastic hub for many different kinds of trips. It's located in one of the wealthiest and largest metro areas in the country, and it obviously has enormous government and government-related traffic. It's also the only airport in the northeast with enormous reserve capacity. The pr...

The customer service issue here is bad but the much bigger problem is the potentially knowing violation of FAA rules. Re: Alitalia Files For Bankruptcy

You are assuming Alitalia is going through chapter 11 bankruptcy. They are in chapter 15, which is designed to allow foreign companies to complete bankruptcy in their own country. I'm not an expert on chapter 15 but the chapter 11 payoff rules cannot apply since if that was the case you would have ...

Re: Alitalia Files For Bankruptcy

Does it mean AZ is now having to pay daily for whatever airport charges are incurred? That's a bit murkier, actually. In the U.S., ordinary expenses for a business (i.e. terminal charges, telecom expenses in this case) incurred post-petition are generally accorded administrative claim status which ...

9 across Y seat across the entire cabin, that's a nightmare. Would love to hear those people that claim seat width don't matter have to say about a 16.5 inch width seat. Many would probably say that (for example) the difference between 17.2 and 17.8 is different than between 16.5 and 17.8. Yes, and...

This still leaves the government on the hook for a lot of cash. The problem with Alitalia is not the labor costs, those are already fairly low amongst legacy EU carriers. It is the productivity per employee.
