Re: Spirit announces Barranquilla and Bucaramanga from FLL

Is the South Florida Colombian population so large to support flights to 7 different cities? I'd imagine there has to be some leisure stuff right? At least JFK-CTG is more of a leisure flight than VFR flight. I believe there is. PEI and AXM have some proportion of tourism draw from the nearby coffe...

Agreed. B6 was close to start CLO from FLL but the plans fizzled out and now even BOG is seasonal from MCO....

Is there that much demand to Colombia?

FL to Colombia is large in volume, perhaps not yield outside of BOG. AA flies to 6 cities from MIA and AV about 5

What a great surprise! Finally a direct link to BGA. The last time BGA had a flight to FLL was on 4C with a stop in CTG back in 2010

Re: JetBlue Network Thread 2020

Really confused about LGA-FLL/MCO going 2x daily in favor of BOS-LGA. Is a half empty E190 to BOS really more profitable than a full A321 to Florida?

There's been some interesting seasonal adds to MCO lately. Just flew on the AR EZE-MCO flight yesterday. Hoping it does well

Re: JetBlue plans move of MEX slots from LAX to BOS&JFK

As much as I have enjoyed my B6 flights, I have enjoyed flying AM BOS-MEX-BOS on 2 trips. Looking forward to flying them again. BOS-Mex market can support 1 carrier at the moment, perhaps B6 should consider FLL-MEX or MCO-MEX for that slot pair. B6 flies twice daily from FLL and MCO, so that's cove...

Re: LATAM wet-leases a 747.

LATAM Chile has wet-leased a WAMOS Air 747 to temporarily replace some 787 stored after their engine issue. The 747 comes to help the airline to keep flying to routes where Dreamliners use to do so, together with another 4 A332, also wet-leased couple weeks ago and are now flying GYE-MAD, BOG-JFK, ...

Re: Highly Common Fleets, vs Very Mixed and General Fleet Strategy

When I think about good fleet management, Finnair quickly jumps to my mind as it combines flexibility with commonality. Lets have a look what their fleet looks like: ATR 72-500 (68/72 seats) Embraer 190 (100 seats) A319 (138 seats) A320 (165 seats) A321 (196/209 seats) A330-300 (263/289 seats) A350...

Re: AF and BOG plans after A340 retirement

It wouldn't surprise me AF will also go for the 787-9 or the A350 to replace their A343 to BOG. A388 The 789 makes sense. When will the AF A343s be totally phased out? AF's 789s are not equipped with F-Class, right? They're not. They actually have the same capacity of the A343 in J and W and only o...

Re: AF and BOG plans after A340 retirement

Does anyone know the rate at which AF retires the A340? I still need to fly on one of those beautiful 4 holer birds. :) I would like to know too. Their youngest A343 is 16 years old, seems it still has some life left on it. Anyone know how close they are to needing C or D checks? As I'm sure they'l...

Re: AF and BOG plans after A340 retirement

So KL flies a triangular route because there's not enough demand for a BOG nonstop? or is the 789 restricted out of BOG because of the altitude?
I would think that a one-stop is not a competitive option against LH or AV

AF and BOG plans after A340 retirement

Hello, A.net! long time lurker, and first-time poster here. AF should be phasing out their A340s soon, which are used on their CDG-BOG route, what equipment do they plan to use once the A340 is gone? Can a fully loaded A332 make it to CDG from BOG or would they go one-stop like KL? What are BOGs lim...
