If FR24 Is correct, LH426 is operated by a B747-8 today, D-ABYR. Would this be the first passenger 748 at PHL? I can't recall any diversions from NY BOS or D.C. before.

Isn't BA switching to the 744 this summer because they dropped the 2nd LHR/PHL flight?

LH I can only guess uses the Cityline 343 because they likely had trouble filling the seats upfront on a standard LH aircraft plus with the US/AA merger they lost the *A connections.

Does LH (UA) use the A part of those gates often? Everytime I've been there (which admittedly hasn't been for a couple years) there was always non-schengen flights to North America or Asia leaving from there. Cool place to see a bunch of 747s, A330s/340s and A380s all in the same place regardless.

Go for the LH 744 before they disappear. If you are traveling alone in Y, I'd try to get the 2 seaters in the last few rows of economy. Then you have the feel of the 2-4-2 of the LX A333.

In a way, I don't mind only being served a cup instead of the whole can, as sometimes I don't want to drink a ton of soda or juice. I usually bring my own bottle of water on board so if I'm truly thirsty I have that. Drinking a ton of soda will make you have to get up a lot anyway...
