Re: Does MESA really deserve its "bad" reputation

Back in the late 90’ they had a line that did 11pm PHX-LAS -SLC. Land in SLC at 2m. Then the crew would do the 6am SLC-PHX flight. They would sleep on the aircraft. One FO brought a 4’ piece of wood to put in the isle to make a bed on the seats.. The stories go on and on. In 1998 got hired at Mesa i...

Re: Delta announced to phase out 717, 763 & CRJ200.

I'm sad to see the 763's and 717's leave, but they are getting a little old. I'm not sad to see the CRJ-200's leave. I flew on one from PDX-SEA and I was very underwhelmed. I did BTV-DTW on a CR2 and not only was it 1.5 hours but there was no Wi-Fi. Nothing appealing about these planes except that ...

Re: Delta announced to phase out 717, 763 & CRJ200.

SLC sees a lot of CRJ200’s as well. I would think that airports such as CDC, PIH, WYS, EKO, TWF, COD, LWS, could all lose the DL service. I could maybe see UA/UAX pick up some of those routes though if that happens. You need to think like a marketing manager.. or CEO. When Delta says they don't wan...

It also makes me wonder if they will replace the CRJ200 with the E175 on routes out west from SLC to SGU, the Montana towns, and some of the Idaho towns. Lets pretend Scope isn't a issue. Most contract regionals dont pay for fuel. And the difference overhaul costs are huge. Between the current version and the E2.. Engine different, landing gear different... there would be no cost advantage for a current US regional with 175’s to fly the E2
