Hmmm...bit behind the news. USDOT has tentatively approved DL to switch SEA-NRT to HND. But yes, at the end of the day, HKG so far is DL's sole failure to/from SEA, and that's due to multiple factors. Everywhere else DL has been fairly successful. Yes, now that I looked back, their gauge are defini...

It's still safe to put money down that the MD-90s will be gone sooner than 2022 (as we've seen before, DL plays it hush-hush about things less than flattering to investors). Already today it's an expensive subfleet. Dragging it out makes no sense economically. This post is internally inconsistent. ...

Delta’s 737-800s are on average 18-20 years old. They won’t need to order anything to replace them for 5 years or so. They'll start retiring the oldest tranche of A320s soon, which seat just 3 fewer passengers than 738s. DL does not have enough narrowbodies on order to achieve stated goals of 4% do...

Everyone talks about AA’s weakness in the west, but to me, this move reflects how weak AA is becoming in the Midwest. DL is effectively trying to “move” a USA-PVG flight from ORD to MSP. If the DL flight “works”, and remains going forward, this would mean: 1) DL can make a PVG flight work that AA c...
