Keeping the seat belt fastened at all times is the best way to avoid this situations and it is not a discomfort. I am not sure why people unfasten it, unless they need to use toilets or stretch their legs on a long haul flight. The problem here is 90% of the passengers do not know how these seat bel...Jump to post
Folks need a recommendation for plane spotting. Apart from DFW Founder's plaza, are there any better spots for plane spotting?Jump to post
It will be a very rough day at both of the Dallas airports. A nasty weather front is passing across the metroplex through the day, and quite a few flights out of DFW are being cancelled. I was looking at flightradar24, some of the flights have been diverted and others are awaiting for weather cleara...Jump to post
Being a soccer fan and aviation enthusiast, I almost see an analogy between Emirate's STC & Machester United's SAF (& Arsenal's AW). EK should find the right successor for a smooth transition unlike ManU. I know it's not fair to compare, but someone sticking to seat for so long can have adve...Jump to post
I still see DXB and DEL are the favored connecting airports for US to India passengers. If Fly Dubai can operate to second tier cities, Emirates can be well ahead in game on US to India Market by offering one stop connections from US to most Indian cities(First tier & Second tier). On the other ...Jump to post

It's weird that sensors(that gives angle of attack) failed on two planes belonging to carriers outside US. Does Boeing have a single supplier for this sensor or multiple ones? If they have multiple ones, its interesting to see who are the suppliers for the crashed jets.Jump to post
WSJ has released its annual airline rankings. Delta is the winner. Frontier is looser. Special recognition goes to American for being last or next to last consistently for the last 10 years. AA should be credited for consistency. And its so stubborn in its place that US Airways merger couldn't make ...Jump to post
Fingers still crossed that EK decides to bring their 380's back to DFW They should have bought it back this Summer. EK might see strong bookings this summer. I heard from an agent that the Dallas route is close to be sold out for most of the days in June. Also EK's fares from IAH to South Asia are ...Jump to post

I am planning a trip and happen to see a A350 on DFW-DOH route. I was quite surprised and didn't see this coming so soon. From Flightradar, it looks like QR is replacing the 773 with the A350 starting Oct 1st. Perhaps this will be the first A350 service to DFW. I hope I can hop on to this beauty on ...Jump to post
There is a lot of confusion about VGA international ops. Code E runway construction started, but unclear when it will be ready. Rumors range from few months to two years. There are also reports of AUH being displayed on terminals, may be some testing going on. My 2 cents is on 9W B737 to AUH as it ...Jump to post
There is a news out there saying that EK has initiated talks on opening a new destination in India. Looks like they are planning to start a new service to VGA bi weekly from Dubai. http://www.deccanchronicle.com/nation/current-affairs/070817/emirates-airlines-to-fly-from-vijayawada.html Does anyone ...Jump to post
I believe DFW area has quite a big Indian community that can feed AI with enough O&D passengers. On top of that, you can expect people driving from Austin and Oklahoma city if AI can outclass ME3(which is little tricky but not impossible). AI can downplay ME3 competition by offering, 1. Seamless...Jump to post
HYD for 9W and DFW for KLM would be great. AA and BA will be furious though.
Does anyone know if KLM is coming back to DFW this summer? They operated this route last summer.
Emirates in not wasting time and opportunity.
I could not post the link. But their facebook page has an interesting update.
Before people forget this, the pressure should me mounted on DOT in framing/correcting the existing rules and make them more passenger friendly. Today its United and tomorrow it can be some other airline and one of us can be a victim.Jump to post
The crew should be regretting by now, given the attention this whole incident got. This sort of noise is good and bad. Good in the way that AI is serious on their employee conduct. Bad in the way that employee morale may be at stake.Jump to post
ME3 will suffer more than AI simply because AI caters to high net worth NRIs, who won't mind paying extra for nonstops. Err...! What? Most HNW NRI's prefer BA or EK even with a stopover. AI is not the cheapest, but they compete with their baggage allowances and being liberal with the booze in econo...Jump to post

The GC distance for DFW-DEL route is 8186 miles which is roughly 100 miles longer than DFW-DXB.
But with a codeshare agreement in place, the DFW-DEL route can create some noise. The issue is if AA has any equipment that can fly this route?
IMO, if AA is interested to enter India it should have a solid long term strategy. It should have a code share agreement in place so that it can operate flights from multiple US cities. It should grow and think beyond just ferrying Indian traffic to BA. At the same time, it should assess the current...Jump to post
NichCage wrote:In 2016 there were some news about it, but so far nothing has been heard right now. American Airlines did make a loss on flights to DEL and I don't think it will be resumed.
I came across couple of posts (one from the travel agent and the other from the website "View from the Wing") saying that AA is planning to either resume the ORD-DEL route or a new route.
Does anyone in the community have more information on this?
EK started to deploy its brand new 77W equipment on DFW and IAH routes. So far they are using EC#(8 years) and EG#(6 years) series on these routes. Its a good news for people who are frustrated with EC# series which have age old IFE systems. Does anyone know if any of the EC# series are on their way...Jump to post
End of the day it comes down to the following questions, 1. How many of the 50 million passengers flown on EK really cared about the age of the equipment? 2. How many of them would really feel the oldness or newness of the aircraft? 3. If the age has been noticed, how significant are they affected by...Jump to post
I guess the EK executives started to feel pressure from the owners. And that pressure may have triggered the adoption of auxiliary income strategies few months ago. They are trying to get every last penny they could get out of their customer's pocket. For example, I came across a FB post from my fri...Jump to post
This year alone I had 3 round trips (all in Y Class) between NA and India on EK. As others mentioned I have seen both ends on a satisfactory scale. Here are my observations on EK flights. I strongly believe that AI needs to walk first before starting a run. Here are few things that AI needs to focus on, before starting any new routes to North America. 1. Offer quality product.
