Find a way to begin service to BFL, especially from SAN. If SBP can support SAN, PDX, and SEA, BFL should be able to handle something!! BFI doesn't have any meaningful facilities to handle passengers. Moreover, it's only 10 min from SEA and there's no light rail connection, so there's limited geogr...

Jump to postIf it was a mechanical like hydraulics they may have wanted longer runway Very strong, gusty winds. Probably some windshear and moderate to severe turbulence in that area with those conditions. Interesting theories, thanks. Jump to postDoes anyone have info on why UA5920 landed at LAX instead of BUR? It looks like the CRJ made an attempt to land at BUR (as scheduled), circled a bit, and then landed at LAX.
This is for 2/10/2020 around 9a local time.

Everyone seems to have read it the only rational way, which is to take the more detailed version over the high-level summary. If you're asked to respond to an answer on a test, do you respond to the question itself or to the section header above it? This is a bad analogy and I won’t answer it until...

Jump to postI’m a big fan of JAL. Comfy planes, exceptional food, and superior service, even in economy. Hands down the best I’ve experienced. Connections and times might not be as good as LH, but that’s just a guess.

Bakersfield CA has almost 1m residents and is ~2 hrs from FAT and the LA area.

I don’t think I’ve ever had to remove my shoes with pre check, with the exception of when I wear steel toed boots to the airport. Also, your germaphobia is pretty misplaced. I’d wager good money that the floors of an airport colonize fewer bacteria than the light switch in your house or the phone in...
Jump to postI have a longggg layover in SFO this week. Is there anywhere on the airside of the airport to do some spotting? A viewing deck? A well-positioned window? Would also be satisfied for a location to a heavy dose of wide bodies. I'll be going into and out of T3...but all the terminals are connected...ri...

Once again, I prefer DFW as my entry point into the US. It is much easier than LAX. An old colleague from the Chicago office is in Sydney now, he chose to go through DFW as well as its much easier to transit through. Your constant restating meaningless stats to me is not going to change my percepti...
Jump to postEither RSW or EVV. This July I'm going through DFW again to ORD. Oh yea well if you're going to RSW or EVV that makes sense...but ORD...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Easier transit and less hassle as stated before. AA makes it easy to get to ORD from DFW and it's a shorter flight than from LAX. But there are 12 LAX-OR...
Jump to postNothing. Sounds like the flight attendant is already documenting it.
Jump to postAA. But for me, the fact of the matter DFW is both easier to transit through and more convenient as DFW offers a non-stop flight to where I need to go. LAX does not offer that, with any carrier. Ah. Where are you headed? Either RSW or EVV. This July I'm going through DFW again to ORD. Oh yea well i...
Jump to postLast December. DFW is much easier. Sorry if you do not see it, but it is what I see. And what I see from other American expats here in Australia, they also prefer DFW over LAX. This is commonly brought up in a group I am a member of. But which US carrier are you flying when you connect at LAX? AA. ...
Jump to postFor me, DFW is much easier for rmuch of my final destination, either RSW or EVV. One flight out of DFW. If I go to LAX, that would be two flights, which is not what I want. But I've flown via LAX and DFW, and DFW is much easier for transit. When was the last time you connected between AA/QF at LAX?...
Jump to postI vote DFW, as said in the first reply, it is so easy. Just get on one of the automated trains to the terminal and that is it. I've done itva few times and loved it, no stress or pain. Connections through LAX, stress and pain. I'm doing SYD-DFW again in July. But on my return leg I opted SFO-SYD to...
Jump to postAA to the Int’l terminal is extremely easy. TBIT and T4 are connected via airside bridge that takes 3 minutes to walk and has nice views of the airfield. I’m not sure why people are being so pessimistic about a transfer there.
Jump to postLast summer, I believe they were running the 777-300ER into SAN.
Jump to postI quite like SAA, but they won't take care of your 747 or A350 fancy. However they've got decent connectivity throughout Europe via Frankfurt, Munich, & London. You can even catch a disappearing bird in the A346.
Jump to postABQ ("Albuquerque International Sunport") -- but they'll have service to Guadalajara starting this summer.

SEA’s rail link you can walk but it’s like over a mile. It's about 1/4 mile on a covered walkway... 5 or so minutes. The bigger problem for SEA is that the light rail is a single line and it really only goes north (one stop at the south end of the airport), so unless you are on that line, it's not ...

Reminds me of the polar vortex of early 2014, during which I had the misfortune of passing through ORD. All flights except for a select few operated by larger aircraft were cancelled, meaning I was stuck in Chicago for 2 nights. Airline employees were telling me that fuel freezing was one of the re...
Jump to postMind you ... with the new more expensive ticket. While still nonrefundable, you can change it to a low fare on another flight and get the full residual as a travel credit. Would you mind expanding on this? I realize you can change to a cheaper fare, but not necessarily a cheaper fare class , right?...
Jump to postZero. I've needed to change flights maybe once in the last 5 years. I'd rather eat the $200 once than repeatedly pay for flexible fares that I don't need.
Jump to postYou can definitely still find them in the Midwest doing routes like MSP-ORD, MSP-MKE, MKE-DTW, etc. I believe the 88's are all ATL-based, and go to places like ORD, STL, IND, TUL among several others.
You probably want to plan to fly through either MSP or ATL.

LAX uses remote stands regularly for international widebodies as TBIT doesn't have enough gates, especially during the midnight rush and afternoon arrival bank. Kinda sorta. Technically you get bussed to these, but there's that little micro terminal they take you to, then you board via jetway. It's...
Jump to postAt LAX, AA will occasionally park at remote stands, deplane you via stairs, and bus you to the AA terminal. I did this on a domestic 787 from ORD last year.
Also the AA regional terminal is effectively ramp boarding for their E-Jets
