the UA press release states that they’re now the US airline with the most premium seats between NY/NJ and london. how far behind BA (and possibly VS) is UA? my assumption is that BA more than doubles UA’s count.

new harbor (not the ferry harbor) at block island gets full on summer weekends, so a lot of guys will take their boats out solo thursday/friday to secure a spot. friends will fly in on saturday, and then they’ll all go back home on the boat.

my only surprise is that NK isn’t starting SRQ with a northeastern city or two. SRQ is a great little airport that i’ll gladly pay a few bucks extra for in order to avoid TPA.

N37267 is on a flight to nowhere. i’m not trying to flame, but i don’t understand why the tribute at the gate was necessary. perhaps UA wanted to have their own tribute instead of sharing one with the entire airport at the statue? 41’s statue in IAH is fantastic and a much better location tham a gate for a single, central tribute.

i hadn’t thought of it before, but the high-J LHR-SYD-JFK-LHR RTW route that others have suggested intrigues me.

fifth freedoms are an endangered species, but the HVF nature of the routes involved, combined with a low density aircraft necessitated by the routes makes sense inside my head.
