It's a lot more complicated than just gcmap ranges. Getting a nat track with .80 assigned for example burns more fuel. International derived alternates, weather, loads, runway analysis. All that stuff pilots are paid for, but A.net fanboy's know nothing about. I am not pretending that it isn't more...Jump to post
Can’t wait to see F9 take on Hawaii from Denver. With UA’s fares being rather pricey, and SW’s routing requiring a west coast connection...they could make it work.
***Could also see them filling the gap between Hawaii and the Midwest (AUS, STL, MCI, MKE). Thoughts?
Triple connecting on a transatlantic ULCC? Inhumane. Very inhuman. But in a society where so many people (many without the money needed to do so i.e. us lovely millennials) want to travel to far off distances for cheap...this could be big. Think families willing to save a couple hundred dollars to ...Jump to post
I know this is being discussed on the Paris Air Show pages but thought I’d mention it here as well (sorry if this is frowned upon). Crazy that Indigo Partners has altered and added to a previous order to bring on 50 A321XLR starting in 2023. With 18 of them slated to go to Frontier. What in the worl...Jump to post
Where are you getting 150 flights? They aren’t even in the top 10. Source: https://www.swamedia.com/pages/corporate-fact-sheet#top10 That is only the operating bases (i.e, "hub" and where they have a crew base, maybe someone could explain it better?) BNA is around 135-140 flights last I h...Jump to post
Am I crazy for wishing it was out of IAD? I’ve had 4 noteworthy delays/cancellations trying to get to Newark this winter and spring alone. Weather really knows how to slow down good ol’ EWR....not something anyone would want to deal with or worry about prior to a 16 hour flight to the southern tip ...Jump to post

They'd be going head to head with G4 on those two routes. F9 may have a leg up though if the fares are competitive and the flights are to MCO versus SFB. If you fly from here, you would know that Allegiant gets some healthy fares compared to other markets on those routes at times. Those would even ...Jump to post
Is it true that UA is going to use the high number regional gates in A this summer in addition to the CUTE gates in A and C? I noticed the signs in the trains have been updated to list UA in all three concourses. So crazy when you think about how big of an operation that will be! UAX will operate o...Jump to post
DEN could probably support it. The 4 United flights are typically pretty full...I assume a majority of that is connections.Jump to post

Frontier14 wrote:Who knows, maybe Frontier is seriously considering acquiring the A220. Not totally out of reason.
How could F9 benefit from the A220 series? Logistical nightmare or a perfect a319 replacement for their thin routes?
What kind of range can you get out of a max capacity a221 or a223?
Don't forget ETOPS is not only worth a penny above water.. Also the African continent has areas where one could really use ETOPS180. I’ve never thought about ETOPS over land. That’s super interesting. Which areas of Africa? I was wondering the same thing - Great Circle Mapper (not sure if it is 100...Jump to post

F9 announced BDL a few weeks back with 3x weekly (I believe seasonal) service to DEN, a route already flown by UA and WN. A couple days ago they also announced BDL-RDU (already served by DL) seasonal service and now I am hearing BDL-MCO (4 carries on the route) seasonal service starts in May. Any o...Jump to post
It happened in the last livery too! Some were really bad. You deffinitly get that wear and tear with decals.
It’s always worried me that someday they’d move away from the animal tails because of this. I hope not. They have the best livery in the world!
Honestly I'd like to see them start DEN-BIL. Given how they've been re-opening old stations, I think it's a possibility. Something exceptionally random would be cool too...like DEN-GNV weekend service. But that's probably too crazy even for F9! I have a pretty good filling DEN-BIL will be announced...Jump to post

Happy New Years F9 followers! Here’s to 2019 and what should be another whirlwind of a year for our beloved Frontier! I’m Expecting dartboard style route announcements, 16+ new A320neo deliveries, further indigo/wizz/wow/F9/volaris/enterjet/jetsmart partnership announcements, several multi-day-delay...Jump to post
I know that DEN has a gate shortage right now, but who exactly is going to be occupying *16* additional C gates, let alone the A gates being added? B, I get; I actually thought UA would want more than they're getting. I can't see WN taking all of the new C gates; that'd be a lot of growth, and I'm ...Jump to post
Don’t see this happening anytime soon.
What plane could even make this distance right now that would be economical?
Awesome but also not awesome. I’m assmuning we’re going to lose LH’s 747??? Truly devastating. No, this flight is in addition to LH's FRA and MUC flights. UA and LH already double up on frequencies on some other hubs, so no reason to think this is replacing the LH flight. The Colorado Sun reports t...Jump to post

OMG I have had this scenario in my head for months now (regarding F9 and Wizz). ULCC's across the pond with a stop in Iceland. Frontier and Wizz would be the partnership, and if Indigo gets in bed with WOW....they merge WOW and Wizz......you got yourself a codeshare agreement between 2 fast growing ...Jump to post
Would love to see UA hit 600+ Another Asian city has to be coming. There is no way UAs sole Tokyo flight is meeting the demand of DEN to The East. As for SW. They are my least favorite airline and I still sometimes get bitter about their arrival in Denver in 2006. Just. Let. Me. Pick. My. Seat. Perh...Jump to post

Would a 100+ tonne MTOW variant appeal to ULCCs who want to carry a full load of ~240 passengers out to farther points? They just don't have to go all the way to 4700 nm. Or perhaps, by putting more fuel into an integral structure, more luggage/cargo can be carried where the ACTs used to take up sp...Jump to post
Unpopular opinion I’m sure....but I loved this livery. Being born in 1992 and growing up in Denver, it’s just the United I remember. Back when they had happy meals for kids on board! I remember getting to fly in 747 once, it was a domestic flight....Denver to Orlando but I think we connected somewhe...Jump to post
What’s the highest seat capacity you could get out of this and not lose range?
Curious of ULCCs could use this plane to enter new markets...I know it’s not ideal...but what are we thinking in terms of max capacity in a single class environment.
Why not just merge with F9? Both going to try to compete here? It just seems like a perfect merger in my opinion.
Could Indigo afford to buy our Spirit?
Is airbus going to be able to meet delivery dates with all these conversions? I’m assuming they were unprepared for the crazy amount of a321 orders they have received. Often the contract with the manufacturer gives the airline the flexibility to firm up on the model (i.e. 320 vs 321) up until a cer...Jump to post
