SYD-GRU could still mean SYD-AKL-GRU. The added benefit is that they use the cheaper AKL crew as well.

Given the high prices on SYD-SCL and the continuous high LFs, and an area where they’d have virtually little competition, this would be a money printing exercise for QF.

I have flown MEL-CGK (QF39/40) with QF a few times and it has always been a fairly light load so I can't imagine it is terribly profitable. Given how long it’s taking to get a block share agreement with GA for Indonesia, I don’t think QF will waste time entering an agreement with HA.

I don't forsee the QF XLR doing anything other than transcon, NZ, Indonesia and Fiji, and potentially opening up thinner routes like ADL-SIN, and replacing PER-SIN and MEL-CGK. They've only ordered 20 (so far) so it's not like they will be going too crazy with growth.

I know many AU-based QF Int’l junior A330/A380 cabin crew are getting minimal hours at the moment. Many of them getting less work than they were at Alliance or on domestic.
