ANC isn’t really out of the way at all so they absolutely could connect passengers from the L48. Delta could launch this with a 757 tho. I agree with your point with AS being able to connect passengers onto ANC-NRT from the lower 48 if AS adds ANC-NRT nonstop service, especially with ANC being loca...Jump to post
AS adding SFO-TPA nonstop service is also a possibility with UA currently being the only airline serving TPA nonstop from the San Francisco Bay Area. SFO-TPA has been added as well. It's weird they didn't announce it with all the other routes. Their schedule shows it starting 11/20, which is the sa...Jump to post

I assume this is some sort of rescue flight to pick up stranded passengers.
Hello all! I was tracking flights on FR24 and noticed that Alaska was flying a 737-800 from SEA-BZE and was wondering what they would be flying it there for as they do not serve that country at all. I had looked up the flight number on FlightAware and it too showed it to be flying that way. Anyone h...Jump to post
The sudden and abrupt dive that the plane took reminds of that incident with the 747SP eons ago. Anyone happen to remember what specifically caused it to actually go into the nose dive? ... Can't remember as of this forum post. I actually suggested that earlier in this thread...there, on a 747SR (s...Jump to post
Surprised AM and KE aren’t higher with the DL tie-in at SEA. I've been puzzled by KE's numbers for months. There is too much capacity on SEA/ICN IMO (DL, OZ. KE) but DL's and OZ's load factors on the lane are superior to KE's. Are they just more expensive? Curious that they till use the 77W instead...Jump to post

I think DL and Ravn Alaska are going to wind up linking up. That would be a huge blow in AK. Highly doubtful on this one because I think DL would have to have a way bigger presence in Alaska for that to work. The main reason why AS partners with 7H is to have better travel and connections to places...Jump to post
I guarantee that KE will be the next airline to be cut off by AS. AS just doesn't want anything to do with SkyTeam at this point because of DL and their partners. IMHO this is very sad to see because there are some very good airlines in that alliance. But perhaps AS will be making some possible stro...Jump to post
I've done flight 65 once and it was AMAZING!! Great report too! Sounds like you had a great time.Jump to post
http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/singapore-and-belize-sign-open-skies-agreement This seems like a really strange agreement because what are the chances that we see an airline from these two countries, flying or stopping in each others countries. Just seems really strange to me. Any thoughts?Jump to post
I don't think it's just AF, I think this happens quite a bit down at that airport with different aircraft and airlines too.Jump to post
Doesn't BA have a subsidiary in South Africa that they use for down there?? Comair is what it's called I think. We posted at the same time. Not a subsidiary, BA only owns around 15% of Comair, it's actually a franchise carrier. I see. Sorry for missing your post by the way. But thanks for the info.Jump to post
As the SCMP is a mere organ of the mainland China dictatorship regime, I wouldn't give a cent on their reporting. That the Chinese government has a problem with Hongkong companies being owned by Western people, especially from the former ruling British colonial power, should not be to astounishing....Jump to post

This is pretty shocking considering they are a major airline in North Africa.Jump to post
Seems kind of odd. I always thought DWC was mainly for cargo flights.Jump to post
It would be nice to see them add ANC-SJC because ANC really needs more flights to the Bay Area. Right now we only get United from San Francisco in the Summer only. VX only flew that route for a year back in 2013 and it seems they didn't enjoy the route very well so they pulled out, sadly. AS also di...Jump to post

I doubt it, considering a main factor in their decline (even before the two crashes) was overcapacity from primarily the 380. A 777X would bring too much capacity into the MH network.
Maybe the 777X? But that's just a guess.Jump to post
Alaska Airlines has announced that they are going to be returning to Mexico City, as they have just been awarded slots there by the DOT. They will be flying there once daily from San Francisco, once daily from San Diego, and twice daily from Los Angeles. IMPO, I kind of felt like not serving MEX was...Jump to post
