If mmwave cant penetrate dense hair or clothing why not just give the monitoring agent a targeted gun shooting a slightly longer wavelength radiation to get through the barrier? Nothing can be said and will be quieter experience for the traveler too.

In addition to what’s been said, another factor to consider is that China is so far ahead of India economically. GDP per capita in China is over 4x where India is at around $2000pp.

Don’t US regulations require international pax to clear C&I at the first landing - whether diversion or not? I didn’t know a gas and go was even allowed. If that’s all that happened (no connections) then I wonder why QF7 backtracked 750 miles from Texas to PHX. Why not just go to larger airports...

They just flew into wake turbulence coming off the Rock of Gibraltar. Depending on the direction of wind the rock must be capable of sending out some immense vortices.

Isn’t Lhasa airport at something like 12000 ft above MSL? Are they planning on a tech stop somewhere in Russia or does the A330 have the lungs to make it into the (thin) air all the way to Finland?
