We would sooner seen the E-170 and 175 operating at mainline before seeing the E2 allowed at express. The 170/175 are NOT regional jets, they are mainline replacements and should never have been allowed at express.

I know it's about jobs and job security over pay, which is exactly why I am proposing what I posted above. If I was one of those UA pilots, I'd rather get displaced into a regional jet and a lower pay scale but within the same airline, than lose my seniority outright and have to start at the bottom...

You don't have an encounter with hail inadvertently, there is a storm nearby that you got too close to. Not saying they were reckless at all they were just too close as it turned out and you can't always see hail visually or on radar.
