Re: AirSerbia E195 hits a pylon during take off from BEG

I assume they were also leaking a lot of fuel while in the air for those 55 minutes based on the video after they landed. I'll be curious to hear why it took them so long to land with that much damage.

Re: Delta Air Lines Fleet - 2023

Is Delta planning on retrofitting the interior of 321ceos to match the new 321neo interior? Another thing the 321ceos have against them in getting the cabin upgrades: they really don't have trans-con range and so will forever be on relatively shorter routes. DL claims for range ( statute miles) 321...

Re: How is DL's new LGA-BDL 3X Daily doing?

I live in the New Haven area and it takes 50% longer for me to drive to/from LGA than BDL and that's WITHOUT traffic. With traffic or during rush hour, the trip to LGA is twice as long as to BDL. On top of that, parking for me at BDL is only 1/3 the cost of parking at LGA. Last week, I flew to Flori...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) Aviation Thread - 2021

Looks like flights from BDL to YYZ and BDL to YUL are still scheduled to resume May 1, 2022, or at least one can still purchase tickets on Air Canada for next spring and summer. Maybe they are planning to share a gate with someone??

EasyJet A321 flew out-of-balance after seated for A320

https://www.flightglobal.com/safety/easyjet-a321neo-flew-out-of-balance-after-passengers-seated-for-a320/145920.article I was surprised to read about this, both because it was not caught beforehand and also that it made that much of a difference. But, then I realized that at least the last 9 rows of...

Re: The Rest of New England Aviation Thread (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2020

I don't think the jetway would be that much of an issue; if it were occupied the other plane could use stairs. I believe there have been times over the last couple of years where there were two AA RJs on the ground at the same time (there are photos of it on this site at least). I completely agree ...

Re: Thai Airways Fleet Discussion and News Thread

Granted not Thai Airways, but my worst ever flight was on a Virgin Atlantic A340-600 LHR-HKG, the economy section had the seats right up in your face, the only saving grace was the aircraft was half full and I had a full row to myself. I for one hope Thai keeps them parked. I don't see what the abo...

If this was a regulation for the past 10 years that Emirates has been operating them into the UK, why is it only just now being enforced?

Re: Thai government approves TG fleet acquisitions

Thai government is now advising the flag carrier to consider putting the A340-600s back into service after updating the cabin interior. https://www.forbes.com/sites/willhorton1/2019/11/03/thai-airways-a340-600s-could-resume-service-after-a-five-year-pattaya-rest/#6f5a985a7fc7 Even with the cost of ...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

HVN has just won the federal appeal court case involving paving the overruns on runway 2-20. The plan is to pave 1000 feet of the southern end and 400 feet of the northern end. This should go a long way in adding new airlines and flights while reducing the dependence on BDL and area flyers will hav...

Re: Jetblue “Save the Date” All Hands - April 10

[. But they may have something up their sleeve. Like finally fixing their horrendous on-time stats? Take yesterday, a few flakes fell in the NYC area, a dusting at best, and they wind up having 35% of their entire operation delayed. Europe won't last long for JetBlue if they can't get their planes ...

Re: AA LUS A321 cabin refurbs

I've zeroed out my AAdvantage Miles and now mostly fly with Delta and JetBlue domestically directly because of AA's recent cuts in service. When the US-AA merger was first announced, Parker indicated that US would rise to the level of the current AA, but just the opposite has occurred with the remov...

Does anybody know when a new air bridge is to be installed at HVN? New Haven budgeted a replacement air bridge in the approved budget last year when AA decided to replace the Dash 8s with jets. Is it dependent on the outcome of the lawsuit & pending appeal?

RE: Delta A320 Fleet To Receive Full Avod Suite

I realize that there are widely divergent views about PTVs vs. streaming wifi content (or even no on-board entertainment) and which passengers most prefer, but just from my own, admittedly unscientific, observations, I usually count more people watching seatback TVs than using handheld devices whene...

RE: A380neo Announced By Airbus

Apparently whether or not the A380neo will be a stretch or not is still to be decided. According to TTG Digital: In an interview with The Sunday Times, the aircraft builder’s president and chief executive Fabrice Brégier said: “I cannot tell you if it will be stretched or not. We will not do it for ...

Any Word On IFE On US Airways Planes?

Back when the AA/US merger was first announced, there was a discussion here about US putting IFE back on its A319/320/321 planes. I also thought that Doug Parker alluded early on that US planes would eventually be brought up to IFE specs with <acron...
