Re: Most overrated aircraft?

Overrated aircraft (In my opinion) 1. 787 (Cramped seating, gimicky and questionable features like the transitional windows and "anti-turbulence". Dreamliner? More like a nightmare) 2. MD80/MD90 (Noisy, pain in the a** to load, most had/have few to no amenities like wifi, power or PTVs bu...

Re: How is Icelandair performing at MCI?

Increased frequency will help with online booking options exposure. I like this move although the B757 is such a great plane. I assume no payload penalty on this route? While the schedule increase is great news I too am a little disappointed in the aircraft downgrade. Hopefully 2019 will be even be...

Re: How is Icelandair performing at MCI?

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question about how Icelandair is doing at MCI but I hope they're doing well here. I just don't have that information available. As for other international service coming to MCI, I don't think it's very likely. Kansas City is not popular with foreign tourists and l...

How is Icelandair performing at MCI?

Icelandair's first season of service at MCI is nearly over. As the city's first European carrier, does anyone have information as to what the average loads were for the route and whether the airline will extend service for 2019? I've read that Icelandair has been struggling recently nationwide as WO...

The route will be served with the upcoming 737-8MAX and the 737-300 will be retired beginning later this year.

Re: Cayman Airways to Denver

Denver just keeps winning! Of all potential airlines to announce Denver service Cayman Airways was one of the farthest options from my mind. However, a Caribbean route was long overdue and I'm a little surprised none of DEN's "big 3" have launched any flights to that region. In anycase, Ge...

Re: United's Kirby: Denver Getting Another United Euro Destination Soon

I hope its a new route/new market and not an additional flight on an existing route. AMS would be a nice addition as its a large hole in the Euro network but knowing UA's history at DEN it will most likely be a German route. LH has been printing money with its Denver flights. Im still waiting for th...

Re: United's Kirby: Denver Getting Another United Euro Destination Soon

Perhaps ZRH, good connections with LX and I'd think reasonable O and D traffic. I wonder how Edelweiss has done this summer. Edelweiss has done well so far with next year's schedule extended to May but I don't think the route is big enough for two carriers when it's currently seasonal with only two...

Re: With SEA's growth would SK consider coming back

You have to remember that SK served SEA for approximately 40 years with very limited competition. Throughout most of the 80s/90s, SK and BA were the only nonstop flights between SEA and large European hubs (UA also offered LHR for awhile, but without many connections beyond LHR). In the late 1990s,...

Below however is a graphic summarizing its findings for the top8 unserved markets at the time, to both London and Europe in total pax a...

Re: Weak bookings for Edelweiss Denver flights?

The SAN-ZRH WK flight had weak bookings for the June and July (the first months of this summer's seasonal service). It's expected to pick up for August. I think Edelweiss' website doesn't help with trying to book flights to ZRH since you can't book a trip that starts outside of ZRH on the Edelweiss...

Weak bookings for Edelweiss Denver flights?

Although it doesn't directly state it, this Denver blog post implies that reservations for the up coming non-stop Edelweiss flights between Denver and Zurich have been weaker than expected. Its not a good sign when the airport director has to practically beg people to book flights although the Edelw...

Any chance that Kansas City will receive a TATL in the near future? First Nashville, then CVG, STL and now IND? MCI flew over 11 million passengers far more than IND and CVG let alone CMH. Seems silly to suggest CMH or even MKE but not Kansas City considering we're much farther from hub airports. W...

How exciting! Given the timing so soon after DY announced DEN-LGW, I wonder whether UA may retaliate with restarting DEN-LHR. Mayor Hancock's tweet says "which airline" instead of saying that it's a new airline, and Ryan Warner specifically mentioned DY's announcement in his tweet. Hmm......

Thanks for sharing this report! Great to see that your trip went off without a hitch - I hope the rest of it went perfectly as well! I love the A330s and A340-600s Lufthansa have.
