Re: Spirit Airlines News and Discussion - 2024

Taking the business element away - I have just flown transatlantic on JetBlue for the first time and the service was one of the best I had experienced across the Atlantic (the crew were excellent), and the aircraft was spotless (should be easy given the LR’s a fairly new). What do you see as needing...

And would not this aircraft actually be replacing two aircraft? The A320 and A220 families? Of course we are talking EIS around late 2030s if the pixel dust powerplants both OEMs are waiting for come to fruition. Ideally the A320 for the ULCC’s would have 198 seats, and the A321 would be somewhere ...

Maybe B6/NK were giving the wrong concession? It seems that the only way that would work is if B6 is allowed to buy NK, but the seperate business models remain. And/or B6 Core move to the NK model.

Although I don’t agree with the way it’s being used, Thomas Cook’s rebirth as an OTA seems to have gone quite well. Recreating a tour operation without using your own airline feels like the more obvious route of doing it. Really not obvious what the USP would be!

What they have succeeded at is creating a brand which is more relevant in the modern world and doesn’t look out of place with any of the world’s major airlines. However, you do get the feeling given the heritage it could have been done in a more sympathetic way, and have a bit of a classier feel.
