At this point only SCAT is still flying the MAX besides USA/Canadian airlines, wouldn't have expected such an approach to safety from North-American countries. I expect Canada to follow soon. Leaving the USA the only country where they see it the other way. In the light of 346 deaths but in the abs...Jump to post
So at the end of the day, it's not on the expert to decide, it's upon the paying passengers who will vote with their feet and stay away from bookings when a "MAX" is involved. That's how it's gonna be. Any day Boeing or the regulators failed to take the painful but necessary decision, they...Jump to post

Here's a portion of the ATC chatter minutes before the accident. At some time the controller indicates she's picking up an ELT signal.

Just for the record: Since the year 2000 Ryanair recorded seven runway excursions & overruns while in the same time-period THY got 14 of them (in five of them, a 737 was involved).Jump to post
Quite a rare visitor is due to come to KPIT today. The Airbus A340-300 3DC-SDF operated for the Leader of Swaziland will depart today from Hamburg (EDDH).

After 13 years of operations, seasonal service to HAM (EDDH) will be ultimately suspended and not resumed in 2019, leaving HAM (the 2nd largest German metropole) without any trans-atlantik flights.Jump to post

What goes around comes around. In times of Trumpocracy, Boeing is in a serious disadvantage for keeping all their final assembly lines within the US.
"America first" only works when no other country is doing the same.
This morning a Germania 737-700 pushing back from terminal 3 took serious damage when it hits the rh stabilizer of a parked 767-300 of EL AL. According to images the 737s tail nearly was cut through before coming to a stop. No passengers or crew was injured on both aircraft. https://twitter.com/Jacd...Jump to post

There is a surreal ATC transcript available from LiveATC.net.

flight was filed from Baghdad to Hahn (Germany) but that YI-ASA circled over the Black Sea and eventually returned to Baghdad. Possible legal issues, after IAW is on the EU Black List preventing any entry.

EZY said their goal was to became #1 in HAM. Sounds ambitious in hindsight regarding their moderate growth in recent years. Seems odd they give it up for marketshare reasons no matter if flights were profitable or not. I flew on many of them and (perceived) utilization never was anything below 80%. ...Jump to post
