Re: Mid-life Career Change

Previously had a class I with no issues, just let it lapse to a class III due to not needing it. Already have a PPL so I'm pretty much only considering the fully blown programs of knocking out all ratings in the shortest amount of time. ATP flight school, CAE, flight school, etc. I did the mom and p...

Re: Mid-life Career Change

I appreciate all the responses. Sent info into all the Ab-Initio programs just to see what they look for. Thankfully kids are not in the picture so not a burden on anyone but myself. Just trying to pick everyone's brains on the subject. I've taken the safe route throughout things and been rewarded w...

Mid-life Career Change

Hello all, I'd like some opinions on an idea I've been tossing around lately. I have a successful career in airport management which is decently compensated with good benefits. I often find myself starting out the window looking at all the jets depart and think how much I'd like to be flying one ins...

Re: ATC at airports temporarily closed.

In the case for many GA airports such as FXE and BCT the airports never "closed", just NOTAMed "unattended". ATC services were not available, nor was FBO or Customs, however the airports remained open if needed. Treated kind of like EMS in a hurricane, if anything happens we'll g...

Re: B6 or WN?

My home airport is FLL so a huge presence by both B6 and WN, used both quite a bit. I have Mosaic on B6 and used them the most as their network has served my travels well over the last few years, east coast to NE, trans-cons to LAX and SFO, Caribbean destinations for vacations. For quick work jaunts...

Re: Jet fighters and afterburners?

Keep in mind also that while FLL doesn't usually have fighters staged there, when the president is in Palm Beach FLL is used as staging for intercept fighters. Homestead ARB is also used but is around 50nm further south from FLL. There have been several intercepts of aircraft that have busted the VI...

Midair collision over Everglades

Unfortunately this flight school is in the news again. This is either the 4th or 5th bird they have lost in the last year or so. A factory for international students with a lack of oversight. I'm sure the Miami FSDO will be busy with this one for a while.. https://www.local10.com/news/florida/miami-...
